Excellent location on the side of the river. Parking available but Frankwell car park over the bridge too. Outside seating aswell as indoor. Relaxed atmosphere great food and service would recommend.

River Thai is a very good restaurant with covid safety applied perfectly, the staff are polite, efficient and friendly and obviously trying their best under difficult circumstances. The food is excellent, the setting is perfect and the place was spotless...My wife and I will be back !.. I was back in Shrewsbury lately and the restaurant was shut due to the flooding.. hope it reopens.

Very pleasant staff but unfortunately that is the best I can say. This was by far the most flavourless Oriental food I have ever tasted. Having left the restaurant I got a takeaway meal too take back to our motorhome and enjoy. SHREWSBURY Lovely, avoid River Tai.

Delicious green curry and massaman curry. The fish cakes were good too, not just a frozen job. Would recommend this restaurant.For the drivers, there is limited parking on site.

The food at the time was nice, it was tasty, but I had food poisoning from eating here, I didn't plan in giving this place a review, I understand mistakes get made but it was the response we had when raising this with the restaurant, we wasn't asking for a refund or anything just letting them know. Basically denied it as if it couldn't be possible and questioned whether it was actually food poisoning. It was definitely food poisoning I was up all night, it was horrendous, couldn't eat for a day and couldn't keep any fluid down for a good 12 hours.

Modern Thai restaurant with all menu items freshly prepared. Prices are average, service is adequate, the menu is rather short but there are no glaring omissions (and vegetarian/vegan options are available). The cocktails menu stands out as unique to Thai restaurants in Shrewsbury, and makes River Thai a great location for the summer as it has a long balcony overlooking the River Severn. Having been once before shortly after its initial opening, I can say the place has improved significantly as the business has matured. Overall, not tremendously memorable, but you can't go wrong.

Stumbled upon this restaurant when we dropped in to Shrewsbury after a day in Shropshire. We were given a seat outdoor on the pontoon overlooking the river. Good selection of cocktails - which could also be made non-alcoholic - and food menu was extensive but not overwhelming.Highly recommend the pad thai which had a sweet sticky sauce. The larb salad was also delicious!

We always come here when staying in Shrewsbury. The food is amazing with generous portions, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Will keep coming back especially in the summer when we can eat out on the terrace overlooking the river.

Really good green tofu Thai Curry. King Prawn Tempura was ok. Perhaps not quite as crispy as I would like. The location, looking over the river, in full sun, is a real selling point
