My local favourite in Primrose Hill! The staff is wonderful and they make the best latte I’ve had so far! Great for a local weekday lunch/ dinner. Love their weekly specials with a good variety of options.

This cafe is in Chalcot Road a lovely quiet road in Primrose hill.The cafe inside is nicely decorated and looks clean and inviting.I went inside first time on Tuesday.I had a hot chocolate which was very nice.However I tried the homemade fruit cake and was not that good and not what I was expecting. Tasted glutinous more like a pudding. Not a country fruit cake taste at all.I went back for a salt beef sandwich the next day Wednesday and the sandwich tasted fine but the crisps given with the sandwich were stale. No cutlery was given with the plate or napkin. I had to ask for these.I also tried another piece of cake on this visit This time Lime and Pistachio. This cake was dry not good.I would only recommend this place at the moment for drinks until they get their act together.Cakes need to be kept in air tight containers to stay fresh and the points above need sorting out.Also when you pay needs to sorted better. Very haphazard and is irritating to customers.Running a cafe is not easy but to get it right is important and I hope the owners sort out. This cafe has so much potential with the right service and food.

Sam's Cafe is a always a pleasure to visit: the location is perfect, the people are friendly and engaging, and the food is superb. It is no exaggeration to say I would miss it terribly if it was not there. It has become an integral part of living in Primrose Hill, and is a pleasant surprise to those who come across it when they visit the area. Check it out, you will leave with a smile on your face.

We've often walked past Sam's and thought it looked lovely. So, on New Year's Day, we decided to give it a go. We waited to be seated but wish we hadn't bothered eating here. The staff seemed completely incapable of dealing with their customers. It took an an hour to be served and for food to get to the table (a few portions of chips - so nothing that taxing). The chips were cold and our drinks order wasn't even delivered. Then, when were ready to leave, we asked to pay and were told to queue up outside the restaurant with the customers ordering takeaways - there was no queuing system and lots of general milling meant that it was another 15 minutes before one of our party had to go back inside and ask the waitress if they actually wanted us to pay for our meal! We had high hopes for this place but left very disappointed - wouldn't go back here.

Lovely cafe friendly staff. I had a full English breakfast it was well presented and tasted amazing. And for the aria a reasonable price. I will be back

Love it. The atmosphere is lovely, the Sam's full English breakfast is brilliant and the service is top notch. On Sundays is a bit busy, but there's always someone smiling and the waiting is usually quick.This is what - I think - makes the area so lovely, sharing the sense of community, slow food and shared safe spaces

I'm not normally one to write negative reviews, but I popped by Sam's this morning to get a bacon roll.After a reasonably long wait of 15-20mins I took it back to my office to eat. It was inedible, I didn't even have a bite. The petrified bacon was so hard it reminded me of the sole of my cycling shoes. I called and took it back and was kindly offered another bacon roll (which I declined) or a refund which I accepted.For a cafe that claims to be a 'Greasy spoon without the grease' cafe, I suggest the owners visit an actual greasy spoon. A bacon roll should be so simple to get right, as another customer pointed out not all the food is like that. Others may have better luck than me!

After a bit waiting , i had lovely sandwiches and soup. Very reasonable price at the same time. Worthy to come back here again !
