Been meaning to try out for years finally took the plunge tonight. In short we were greeted in genuine deep down fashion which is hard to put on, this went a long way.Food as expected for the the very reasonable prices, this is now one of two pubs which will become our regular.A little different to the norm its labelled with the superior brand Banks over the inferior Marstons which the ale reflected.Places run like this deserve honest approval, see you soon.Additionally not shown up due to no signal? We had a carvery 27 Feb that fell way short of the 'rave' reviews. Barely any meat given myogoblin poored out when cut, roasties rock hard to carrots squeaky when bitten. Would i have another carvery, no theres two better namely Boycott Arms the best with Spread Eagle 2nd best. Final straw the ale stunk, having experienced this at 3 other Marstons pubs recently. The addition here knocks it from a 5 to a 3.

Friendly service, no booking required. We popped in after a prior event got cancelled, service was very quick and friendly, would happily return again.

Good all day breakfast. A fair price. Comes with fried bread instead of toast, now this fried bread is the real M'Coy, so if like me, you don't like it ask for toast when ordering instead. The very small and token piece of tomato was just not cooked. Basically raw. Tin tomato would be much better. But a good meal and would buy again. Nice surroundings. A very nice place and a nice waitress.

An extensive menu, friendly staff and beer in good condition. I visited for a family celebration. There were around sixteen of us present, but nobody was kept waiting too long and nothing was too much for the serving staff. My beer, a Banks's Bitter (Amber) was fine. Prices were also reasonable on the extensive menu. One to visit.

It was my first visit here and I would highly recommend it. Good menu plenty of choices for everyone. Good prices. Nice place and very nice staff. What I also liked is you can choose either chips, baked potato, rice or mash with main meals and you also could choose from peas, mushy peas or salad. My friend choose midi grill from smaller appetite menu and it was great not small at all and I choose cajun chicken with chips and salad and this meal included mushrooms, onion rings and grilled tomato. I took a photo of mine shown below and our lovely puddings which were bailey's sundae
