The Charlton Arms Terrace Restaurant in Shropshire

Food hot but not properly cooked. No vegan options and only one vegetarian starter and main course which were both the consistency of baby food. Staff asked if everything was OK with our meal, but when we pointed out that it wasn't properly cooked they walked off and weren't interested when we went pay. Would not go back!

Nice swtting on the river with a nice outlook from the roof terrace. Good beer and great staff. We didn't eat but the food coming out looked very good. I will visit again and eat next time

Read about this place in the Estrella Top 50 Gastropub Awards and it did not disappoint. Lovely table in the bar area overlooking the river. The food and service were perfect. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. All 3 of us very happy with our choices. The Fish & Chips was one of the very best I’ve ever had. As a fellow pub owner I was very very impressed. Can’t wait to go back next time we’re up in this part of the world.

Had Sunday lunch here and was not disappointed. We sat in the conservatory overlooking the river, nice and warm on a cold day. Food and drink were good and service excellent. Hard to fault anything.

Good stay, lovely setting and decor. The food was gorgeous, excellent breakfast too. Only issue was our bedroom was far too hot, even with the radiator off. Recommended.

Stayed here for 2 nights in January the rooms are really nice and clean we stayed in room 13 and had a fantastic balcony which overlooked the river,would be fantastic in summer. The food in the restaurant was 10 out of 10 and the staff were very friendly and helpful would definitely recommend to stay here and will be back again soon

Beautiful hotel in a brilliant location. Excellent food, drink, service. Room and hotel were clean. I'll definitely be going back and have recommend to everyone I've spoke to since.

Great service. Attentive and well staffed.My wife was not impressed with the tiramisu.The online booking system said the restaurant was fully booked for days. But a phone call revealed availability the same day and the restaurant was not busy at all. So better to call. Great location on the River.

It was a lovely, stress free, short break stay. Stress free, as the Charlton Armswas very easy to find, ample car park, a lovely warm welcome, great position by the River Teme, fantastic views over the River and Town from our bedroom and the restaurant.All of the staff were genuinely friendly and very helpful.Ludlow Town which is beautiful with several restaurants and tea rooms, is just a short walk away.Well worth a short stress free break. 👍

Lovely location by the river. Sit out on the terrace with a few drinks before going to eat in the restaurant.Food was very good. Good selection of beers, wines, spirits, etc. Service was great with very helpful, professional and efficient staff.You definitely need to book. We wanted to go there on a friday evening but it was full. We managed to get in at 1200 for a lovely lunch.All in all, this place is definitely the one to go to if you are in Ludlow.
