We arrived for my birthday meal. The first celebrated in two years on sat 2nd , waited to be seated stood 10 minutes for a young man to run past and shout oh that’s your table and point it out. We had ordered drinks ourselves at the bar by then. Waitress came and took out order. 45 minute wait for 6 starters, 4 of them identical. More Prosecco, another 45 minute for our mains which came out, 2 first then a wait then 2 more then a wait and then the last 2. The steaks were cremated,asked for medium, peppercorn sauce as inedible and our fish dishes were cold. Was told there was a temp chef in. Not his fault it’s not his menu but it was supposed to be a special girls night and it was ruined. The waitress apologised profusely and rectified our bill accordingly. Had we been contacted before hand we could have changed plans if we needed too. I normally love the clove but this time I was truly let down. Also no cocktails on ??

Very, very good restaurant. Slightly pricey, but you get what you pay for. Decent local ales on hand pump. Lovely staff too. Unfortunately, the restaurant part of the pub seems to have dreadful acoustics and all we could hear were the other tables rather than our own party.

Very, very impressed excellent food at a good price and staff are very efficient and friendly. Highly recommended. Thus was our second visit and will definitely be returning.

Fantastic beef Sunday lunch. Decent gluten free options (and willing to adapt desserts etc to cater for allergies). Rooms also very comfortable. Shame the pub isn’t open on a Sunday evening or Monday/Tuesday at the moment (Jan 2022).

I stayed here for 2 nights. lovely place and location was handy as shooting near by.Bedroom was big and comfy.It was a shame the pub and restaurant was closed Sunday, Monday,Tuesday.

We had a main course and cheese and biscuits which were superb. The ambience of the place was first-class. We were served promptly and efficiently. Staff were welcoming,pleasant and helpful in particular the assistant manager, Emily.We enjoyed the nice touch of cloth napkins.

The most beautiful little stay with the comfiest bed I have ever slept in. The staff are very polite and accomodating, the restaurant food is amazing with a great atmosphere. The cafe for breakfast is also a nice quaint place with great food options, would love to come back and stay a little longer! Just around the corner is a farm shop and plant shop for any goodies to take home. Definitely recommend.

An absolute delight to stop here for lunch and a nights stay.The food was 10/10, the service was 10/10 and our room was 10/10.Our dogs were spoilt by the waitresses and also had a few naughty treats.As soon as you turn up you are made to feel at home and its great going to stay in such a beautiful place with your dogs.Great value for money too and will definitely be returning when we come here again.Keep up the great work!!
