In general a really good meal , some of the bits were basic and could be better but the roast was lovely and had good flavour , the pudding was average but was still decent value for money

·

Very friendly place and helpful staff, good selection of beers & wines.

·

Met friends for a birthday meal , excellent service with lovely food and a good selection of drinks !

The coach and horses was recommended to us as a friendly local pub. We arrived at 10.25pm to be told that last orders had already been called. However, the pub was still very busy, with what maybe the chosen many locals committed to stay, even within licensee hours and we were asked to leave. Maybe our faces just didn’t fit …..????

Fantastic food, service and beer. Been coming here for years, Dean and the team do the best pub food in Shrewsbury without a doubt.

I think that this is as good as a pub, the food, and the staff, could every get. Yes, the food is a little more pretentious than ordinary pub grub, but my God, does the chef know his game! We both had the chicken breast (light and not too filling), which left us with plenty of room for the cheese board. I LOVE a cheese board, and this one was prepared with imagination and flare. Oh and the beer was as good as anything that you will get in Shrewsbury. It’s not cheap. If you want 2 for £10, forget this place. It was, however, our treat for the holiday, after having eaten at Wethies all week. We will be back on our next visit.

Visited for Sunday lunch recently and it was lovely, so tasty. The choice of veg and sides was extensive, roast potatoes, new potatoes, stuffing, sausages, carrots, peas, swede mash, creamy leeks, cabbage, ratatouille, and probably others that I have forgotten. The veg was not all dried up like many places. There were 3 choices of meat, beef, turkey and pork and also a vegetarian option. Gravy and a choice of sauces were brought to our table when we were called to fill our plates. We also had desserts, there was a choice of about eight, obviously homemade. My friend had the baileys cheesecake which was creamy and soft and I had the coach mess. It was very nice but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you like chewy meringue. They were both beautifully presented. The bill was £40 with a soft drink each and was a great weekend treat. The lovely ladies in there were so friendly and helpful, they really make the place. Top marks to them.

Fab little cosy pub. We were visiting for the night and met a nice bunch of people inside. Lovely decor and old pub. Staff were lovely too. Definitely the best pub we visited in Shrewsbury but we did not get around to them all.Lovely street too. Locals said Sunday roast was great so next will try that.

·

Nice pub with great beer selection. Really cozy pub area, and separate restaurant area serving pub classics. There is an open fire here, not sure if it gets fired up in winter or not!

·

A lovely old local pub, one of only four that we were able to find in Shrewsbury. Too many look great from outside but, when you enter, you find that the interior does not live up to the promise of the 16th or 17th century exterior.
