Always friend staff and the drinks are a good price, a happy regular.

Initially we were unimpressed with the poor selection of Real Ale on offer. There was Doombar and Wainwrights, which are so common these days that ale drinkers are bored of them, why would a free house have so little imagination? However, we decided to have a pint of Wainwrights and it was utterly superb, possibly one of the best we had at several pubs that evening. I will go back and whilst hoping for a better choice, can be confident that the 'boring' beer will be top notch and very enjoyable. Really good cellarmanship.

Lovely old building repurposed as a pub. Friendly staff with a good sense of humour. The beer was on excellent form, and very reasonably priced. Just off the main high street. Rooftop covered beer garden. Definitely be back.

Short walk from the canal found the Crown which offers Very good service- great value food and plenty of choices of drinks.Mark and his team make everyone very welcome

Fantastic .lovely couple they were so acommodating. Cooked fish and chips for us even though it was 3pm .we went back after the show again lovely welcome .would definitely go back .

Lovely bar staff,very nice and friendly. Very good selection of drinks. Also has a pool table and 2 dartboards.

27 October 2021:Four of us decided to give The Crown a visit over lunchtime as they said okay if our friends little dog was sat quietly and discreetly in one of the inside seating area whilst we all had some lunch.From the minute we walked in, we were welcomed with a big smile and made to feel totally at home....The staff were amazing and so attentive and the inside of this pub is very warm, cosy and comfortable...and looked spectacular with all the Halloween decorations.We've always wondered if The Crown was as good as it looks from the outside, so historical and a stunning building dating back to the 1650c or so...wow.The reason we've never been is because usually we don't go into "live sports" pubs but this one was an exception we decided.The ongoing sports on the TV was quiet and non intrusive...a pub with a pool table and two dart boards areas...proper good ol pub as it was and as it is!The selection of drinks, beers, ales and food was excellent. The prices were very reasonable and deserved as the menu was amazing and the food above all was outstanding and delicious!!The service was excellent and the food outstanding, we also met the owner/s and they were so friendly and warm that we'll definitely be back. Oh, and they do Sunday roast lunch too and what we were told about it sounds fantastic.What a great experience, what a great pub, what great friendly staff/owners and what fantastic food and drinks.A big thank you from us four and a big shout out to you all at The Crown, well done and10/10 full marks!!We highly recommend this pub, wow!

We came in hoping for some dinner, the landlord politely explained that the kitchen was closed but was more than happy to recommend another establishment, on discovering that this pub also wasn’t serving food we returned to the Crown and asked if we could get fish and chips from next door and eat them here, he said yes without hesitation and even offered plates and cutlery. After our meal (which also happened to be excellent) the landlord offered to clear our table anyway, we stayed for a fewMore drinks and the service was excellent throughout. 10/10, would recommend.P.S. also a very pretty pub in a very pretty town.
