The Fish House Shop in Shropshire

Well went on today to buy monkfish. Was quoted £53.00 a kilo. The small fillet I wanted worked out at £30. I didn’t buy. I don’t mind paying for quality but I object to being ripped off. Same quantity from another supplier came to £10.30

We arrived here at 1:30pm - the shop was closed :( but we found someone out back and they opened up for us ! Apparently they have tried changing their opening times several times on google to no avail… but a lovely little shop with friendly staff (and very cosy / clean)

The wild halibut steaks I bought this morning at The Fish House were quite simply the best fish I have ever cooked, and eaten. We are on holiday near Ludlow, so can't make regular purchases at this wonderful shop - lucky for you if you live nearby!

My lockdown birthday was made very special by your Crab Platter. It was delicious. So looking forward to visiting again when things are back to normal service. Thank you.

This has got to be the freshest tastiest fish I've ever eaten. It's a simple menu that is served quickly and looks amazing, no matter what you have. You cant book a table here so if you see a couple of seats spare you have to jump in, or go down the road for a pint and come back with your fingers crossed. Cheap, delicious and with friendly staff and great service its everything you could want if you love fish.

Delicious oysters which made my eyes sparkle. Lovely intimate dining experience. The platter was exceptional! Tasty local beer and lovely wines. Will definitely be returning! Many thanks.

Love the fish platters. Feel very sophisticated sitting watching the world go by with a glass of wine and a selection of seafood. Lovely staff and always a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone.

Visited The Fish House today.Nice friendly staff...Good wine but expensive for a small glass.Oysters were excellent, as was the crab in the platter.The prawn flesh was soft and tasteless.The bread was fresh and crusty.I was disappointed, as the previous reviews were good in regard the food.I would go back again for the Oysters and crab.Mick

Great little place/shop literally in the middle of Ludlow. Their Mackerel Pate was terrific! Fresh seafood to buy as well as a few tables to sit down and eat from a choice of dishes served with pleasant wine.
