The French Pantry in Shropshire

Cosy restaurant with a simple but interesting menu. Well worth a visit.

We ate here on a Saturday lunchtime. The restaurant is cosy, beautifully decorated and we were very well looked after by the waitress. The food was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were superb and the dishes outstanding. Make sure you book! We look forward to returning.

Well, as the name suggests it's a restaurant serving French food, so I had escargot to start, followed by a pork dish whose name I've forgot. Both were very tasty. The service was excellent and the wine too, which I ordered by the glass. Worth a visit.

Firstly, I feel a bit mean not giving 5* as generally we had a great meal out. Lovely cosy restaurant, dog friendly as long as your dog isn't large (the restaurant is small) and pleasant staff. Food was delicous, piping hot (almost too hot!) classic french dishes cooked well. However, portion sizes were so large we both couldn't finish our main courses (we are massive foodies and my husband eats a lot so this is saying something!) as the dishes were so overwhelming in size (cassoulet and cod basquaise) - could have been half the size and we'd have been happy! Staff seemed unsure about ingredients and descriptions of dishes when asked. Overall a great meal out and excellent value for money considering the portions, but be warned you might not be able to manage dessert! Will return if in the area.

Great meal here on a cold evening in October. Cosy French restaurant with extremely tasty food. Service excellent too from 2 busy efficient young women.

Lovely experience. Small intimate environment with charming ambience. Food was very excellent. Refreshingly different menu from the usual local offerings. Vegetable side was perfectly cooked with a diversity of tasty in season choices. Meals arrived quickly and piping hot. Duck, haddock, and venison were creatively prepared and delicious. The desserts were irresistable! Staff were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. We can't wait to return for another special evening!

Atmosphere lovely, french music softly playing in the background, cute little authentic french restaurant serving the most amazing tasty well presented food, with excellent service to go with it, all washed down with good french wine. Would go back regularly if I lived closer. Clearly popular, we had to book a few days in advance to get a table.

Wonderful! The meal we had here was top quality. The starter we had were the eels and the crab - they were truly top notch. Our mains, the pork and the cassoulet, were rich and well cooked, full of flavour. A wonderful experience all round. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

This is an exceptional restaurant in the heart of Ludlow. The range of food is very good and the taste is fabulous. Genuinely worth seeking out. I had lunch there a couple of years ago and last week had dinner. You will need to book in advance. The team is great, knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. The food is incredible. Really very well created and delivered.
