Nice pint, reasonably priced. Friendly local atmosphere. Fire was lovely and cosy. Really nice little local pub. Would definitely recommend it!

We visited on a Friday night whilst staying at a nearby campsite. The Kangaroo has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and everyone (staff and locals) were so friendly and great company. It was fish and chip night; we had a very generous portion which tasted lovely. Reasonable pricing too. Super friendly towards our dog. Would 100% recommend and come again.

This was our third visit to the pub as a base for walking. Again we did a circular walk this time with a group, parking at the Kangaroo Pub by arrangement with Simon, the landlord, who couldn't have been more helpful. The photo shows the route, out from Aston On Clun with an anti-clockwise loop past Burrow Hill Fort, out to Kempton and back to the pub (11 km). The walk is well worth doing with the fort as a great historical addition. The route is ideal for a group with a lot on track and a very short length of road at Kempton. We have had excellent food from the menu on previous visits and this time some of the group had sandwiches and chips by arrangement, while some ate from the menu. The huge spread of sandwiches and wonderful chips went down really well and were more than enough to feed the group of hungry walkers. The menu food again seemed great value. Many thanks to Simon and Michelle for being so welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be going back.

This was a great surprise, on a cycling holiday on our last day spotted this little jem on the main road by Craven Arms. Popped in on the off chance for a lunch time meal and had a smashing meal. I had fish and chips and my mates had burgers. The food was excellent, generous, light fluffy fish, crisp batter and hand cut chips. All this for under £10. Now for the good bit, the hospitality from the landlord and landlady was exceptional. The pub is immaculate and has a large beer garden which is to the same standard as the rest of the pub. This is a fantastic pub.

Owners are great and pub is lovely inside with a fabulous beer garden. Good beer and dog friendly. Unable to eat because of unforseen circumstances but I expect it to be good having spoken with locals.

Friendly staff, couldn’t do enough to please. Fish and chips were outstanding, homemade batter which melted in the mouth paired with tasty homemade tartare sauce. Lovely atmosphere, sat in the garden . Had a really good evening. Thank you!

A proper country pub with wood fire and cosy atmosphere. This was the only pub within walking distance of our accommodation and it didn’t let us down. We had Sunday lunch and it was delicious; get there early to avoid missing out on your meat of choice. The chef spoke to us about our meal and was super accommodating.Wednesday is fish and chip night and it is popular with the local community. We went, we ate and we were truly satisfied! The chips were proper homemade chunky chips and the mushy peas had a great flavour. The fish was sublime - light, flaky, and the batter was crispy and flavoursome. We could tell that the oil was clean and fresh and it didn’t have that greasy after taste so common with fried pub food. The only downside is that food is only served a few set evenings of the week. When there are limited resources within walking distance it would be nice to pop there for lunch on a whim. Even just sandwiches would be nice.
