What an amazing pub. Not just great beer, but the food Is brilliant too. Had a lamb shank and my mate had a veggy stroganoff, couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The room was great too, give it a go 👍

Only been here the one time on our first visit to Shrewsbury. Absolutely loved it. Staff were very friendly an helpful. We did worry that it may be a bit of a generic place that offer 2 for £12 but we just wanted to sit some where warm dry and friendly for lunch.Well we couldn't of been more wrong! The food was hands down the best pub grub we have had. My partner had a cheese burger which was home made and said he really enjoyed that. I had gammon pineapple and cheese on ciabatta. Gammon was cooked perfect and not cheap nasty stuff. Fresh pineapple. Both meals served with delicious chunky home cooked chips and a fresh salad.Prices were brilliant. We didn't have off the 2 for £12 but there was about 12 or so options on there to choose from.I will definitely return here and recommend it to others. I would probably even look into using the B&B here next time too..Well worth a visit here.

Great value. Spotless warm and comfy. The private shower room nearby was spotless but a bit cold and Stark and a small cubicle.Lots of stairs to climb but we knew this so not a complaint and three keys to fumble with.Breakfast was really lovely and hosts welcoming and friendly.I would definitely wish to return and highly recommend.Location superb but nearest carpark a five minute steep walk away.

Highly recommended. Had 2 meals here. Both well cooked and nicely presented.Gteat value for money. Good selection of wines/beers /spirits. Very popular venue. Has live entertainment.

Had to go here short notice due to another place being abysmal. Lovely cosy little place. Staff were really friendly. Food was nice, proper home cooked food.

We booked a room for 2 nights. The pub within was staging a karaoke evening. Lots of people present. All would have been fine but a drunk got overly boisterous and bumped into as many people as he could. The security man was nowhere to be seen. The chap operating the karaoke apologised and went to ask the security guard, chatting outside to come inside. We and others, left.On entry, our room (5) was a tad cold so we asked that the radiators be bled - this was done, eventually. The temperature improved a little but on the coldest night of the year, the room still left a lot to be desired. Windows were old and singleglazed. The bathroom shower cubicle was small and despite letting the water run for 3 minutes, nothing more than a trickle came from the shower head. Really awful.Breakfast offered plenty of choice and was tasty. All in all, expensive and a let-down. Will not return.

Marvelous 2 for £12 specials. Large portions & very tasty meals coupled with good friendly service, definitely recommend eating there if you want an inexpensive meal.
