Visited the Pound Inn as was passing and was search of a good meal. When we pulled in to the carpark we could see good access to the gardens and pub.We noted that they were advertising 'the home of the pie' so we both decided to have a pie each. You get to choose from several pies, 2 sides and a gravy. The problem I always found was with a pie there was never enough gravy. Well here you get an extra gravy with your pie. Problem solved. Drinks flowed nicely and staff were attentive and friendly with a welcoming atmosphere. My girlfriend and I will be returning again for another great meal. Would recommend. Fair prices as well.

Such a lovely warm welcoming pub with a great menu.Communication before we arrived was excellent. We were staying not too far away in Marshbrook and came across The pound inn online. We each had perfect meals, steak, chicken burger and various pies. All cooked perfectly and served by friendly staff.A staff member put the champions league final on for us and locals were really friendly conversing about the game.We were served the best liqueur coffee I've had in ages. Good choice at the bar. I'd definitely return.

Stopped in on our way back from a trip to Shrewsbury as it looked very well presented. Warm welcome and the drinks were reasonably priced. The food however was not the best, mash potatoes clearly not made up on site, would presume from a packet, chips as well and as they were quite thick half were not cooked enough. The mains we had of Wenlock sausage & Scampi was really nice, just let down by the rest. Not great value in our opinion.

Visited The Pound Inn last year and enjoyed the bar food, but this was especially delicious on Thursday. My husband had life of pie;steak and kidney myself had scampi. It's was a truly fab start to our 4 day break. Will return again when in the area

Stopped in for a late lunch after a walk in the hills, what a great place and much nicer on the inside than it looks from outside. Really friendly staff who made us and our dog feel very welcome, great beer and pies to die for!

The Pound deserves to dominate the pub grub market throughout their county. It is unbelievable whilst on a major arterial route (A5/A49/Asomethingelse) that there are so few places to pull off the main road without having to follow signs to pubs miles away that closed down years ago! They were welcoming and very helpful about us parking our car and caravan unit (fortunately they have a good sized carpark). We ate outside in their swiss style dining pods/sheds - what a great experience under cover, protected from both the weather and other people because of covid. The food was great, especially when you have travelled that extra half hour of hunger because there was nowhere else for a proper traveller's rest.We enjoyed our brief break and were grateful to the staff for their happy approach in such miserable weather and difficult times. We wish we could say we will be back but as we were traveling home with another 2.5 hours to go it is unlikely but we do hope others on long journeys will have a similar enjoyable rest.

Stunning thatched pub decorated with colourful hanging baskets very picturesque. We hadn't booked so sat outside in the garden in the extra seated area on bales of hay, different but added more fun to our experience ! Food was amazing served by friendly staff and prompt service. Would definitely recommend.
