The riding stables had requested in advance that our riding group be provided with string loops on the fence to tie our horses to so we could enjoy a relaxing lunch, and were assured they would be provided. The next day the stables asked for confirmation and were assured that the string loops would be awaiting us.On the day there were two loops for nine horses, so we couldn't sit and eat our food but had to stand and hold our horses while taking it in turns to collect our meals from the table by the door where they had been left, and eat them either standing up or sitting on the grass. The food was excellent, and deserves five stars. The broken promise didn't impress us though - if we'd known the twine wouldn't be provided we could have brought our own, and the pub would have earned five stars all round. What could have been a lovely lunch was rather spoiled by not being able to sit at a table and relax.

I've been here a few times now it's all ways a good sign when they have Bathams on tap . Although the menu is limited all the food that I've had has been beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone but the menu is limited and they could do with a larger selection. With this in mind it would be a first class place the go to, an update on progress caverey is available now and what a spread it is booking is advisable, a basic but very good menu in the week sunday lunch in carvey or cobs baguettes rolls call them what you will.

Amazing pub very dog friendly after a walk with are 2 dogs we took a chance a phoned to see if they had room for 4 people and 2 dogs for a Sunday carvery. We got lucky and they squeezed us in , lovely carvery and they even treated the dogs with some meat from the carvery highly recommend to anyone even more so to dog owners.

Tuesday lunchtime , and after a harrowing morning, needed badly to go somewhere to re-charge brain and grab a bite to eat. What a wonderful place indoors and out. Made to feel welcome by staff , small but interesting menu ( something for everyone) but settled on the carvery. Cannot praise the quality high enough. Even though not starving I piled my plate with large selection of various sides (huge choice) and the generous portions of beef and Turkey. ( other meats available) beef was so tender as was the turkey( not dry) . Went for the option with pudding and had to have it as take home option. STUFFED. Great food , great surroundings , friendly staff, great value.

No photos but a nice review. 1st visit and hope to return soon. Good place to stop after a walk. Dog friendly and spacious. Had a ham cob and chips with a pint of Guinness. All good and the staff, locals were lovely. Ham was top of the league π
