Great food, great service 👌🏻 See you soon

Food is always spot on here, huge portions and decent prices. Their signature sizzler dishes are always a winner, but we've recently discovered so are their Sunday roasts! First choice for our roast dinners now. Book in advance as they do get busy but isn't that a sign of a good restaurant?!Lovely atmosphere too and location near the river

We came and stayed at this gorgeous little place on Saturday as our friends were getting married not too far away. It was just stunning. The gent who I spoke to on the phone couldn't help enough when we were organising our stay. Amazing. Will definitely come again (well worth the 2 1/2 hour trip)

Food was delicious and piping hot. Staff very efficient and welcoming. Prices were very good and portions large

Won’t visit again for sure! Neither will I be recommending to friends or family. Owners need to decide if the establishment is a pub or a restaurant. Can’t even go to the toilet without fighting through people. Waiters / waitresses would much prefer gossiping with the locals than keeping an eye on tables. Wouldn’t waste your money!

Consistant quality is obviously the top priority of the owners. Customer service is always superb. The food is as always superb with generous portion sizes and the prices are extremely reasonable.

·

Really surprised, a much improved environment and rather good food. Good value for money too Parking can be a bit limited because of the local museums

The team at the Shakespeare are brilliant, efficient and unobtrusive. The food was excellent and served fresh and hot, even though there was 11 of us. Atmosphere is very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the birthday dinner for my wife and family and would absolutely recommend the Shakespeare to anyone.

Went for a Boxing day dinner for Three people, but wish we had stayed home and eaten our Christmas day leftovers. On the plate was an undercooked pig in blanket, a doughy yorky pud and 2 slices of Turkey. The Turkey slices were fine but the small vegetable bowl that came with it was awful, that included two small old roast potatoes, one very small bowl of veg that consisted of a meager amount ie..half a carrot , a leaf of cabbage and one chopped section of parsnip, remember this was for Three adults....I had to return the Sprouts to the kitchen as they were rock hard....the replacement ones that came back were just as bad , having been given a blitz in the microwave....luckily for us, the desserts were quite nice, and for this we have to give 2 stars, but all in all, for the price we paid , this Boxing day meal will be remembered for a long time, but for all the wrong reasons..come on Shakespeare , you should be doing better than this!!

Top quality food, reasonable prices and super friendly staff, we will definitely be back 👍.
