What an experience , fantastic food with great service and it was great to have the wine and food choices explained it made for a memorable night, well done the staff at the walrus

·

Spectacular meal. The restaurant had gone to the trouble of creating an entire 6 course menu specifically for us (we are both dairy intolerant). This wasn't just ensuring something on the menu was dairy free, they adapted each dish or designed a new one based on seasonal fresh produce. The wine flight was spectacular and the sommelier both knowledgeable and entertaining, painting word pictures of the region, vineyard and people.Very good value for what is very special food - this will be a favourite place to celebrate.

Visited The Walrus for recent birthday celebrations. It may well be the best restaurant I've ever been to. The service was friendly, knowledgable and efficient. The food was absolutely incredible and a credit to the two chefs who can be seen preparing across the room. The whole experience was so good we booked another visit there and then.

a little nugget of silver in shrewsbury. much needed too as the city lacks somewhere special for that special occasion. Set menu, and you can accompany it with wine. Every course delicious. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Only odd thing is the size of the kitchen, but all else good, and i would certainly be back there if in the area.

Been to 4 or 5 other Michelin and Rosette standard restaurants. The Walrus definitely had the best food, every dish was spot on, great mix of flavours and delicious ingredients. Nice laid back atmosphere, service staff were professional, knowledgeable and smiley. Great stuff highly recommended

Just fantastic food. We had the tasting menu with wine flight and it was all delicious. Some really interesting wine pairings that you wouldn't think to make yourself, but all complemented the food very well. The 6 courses went well together, and the portion sizes were perfect. The white port Manhattan was a great way to start the meal as well.Overall a really great dining experience. Definitely one to try and get a table at if you can!

The Chefs at the Walrus are incredibly talented. The tasting menu offers a unique opportunity to try new and interesting ingredients, expertly executed. The skills from the Chefs combining amazing ingredients, beautifully presented makes for a very exceptional and memorable meal. Service is friendly and relaxed with the right balance of being attentive, knowledgeable without being over bearing. One of our party has a severe food allergy and we felt very reassured by the staff that it was taken seriously and the kitchen had adapted the menu accordingly. The wine list has excellent wine at very reasonable prices. This restaurant is worthy of a Michelin star. If you are in or close to the area make sure you pay a visit to this amazing restaurant.

The food is very extravagant, extremely perfect and prepared with a lot of love. This may sound a bit strange, but I have never eaten anything so tasty. I chose the 6-course tasting menu to enjoy the whole variety of the cuisine. Just look at the pictures, it tastes even better. And the prices much too low.

Had the taster menu, 6 courses, arrived at 6.30 and left at 9.45, beautiful crafted food. Interesting items and good use of local ingredients from the bread at the start to the coffee at the end. Also easily accommodated my wife's gluten free needs. Well served, available and talkative but not intrusive. Will certainly return.

Just awesome, from the original and tasty food to the friendly service, we all had the tasting menu and we're glad to see there is now a drinks pairing option. It's not cheap but for the quality and innovation it's great value. My pictures don't do the food the justice it deserves.
