Old charm historic pub inside and out. Dog friendly- always essential to our family ambles :)) I enjoyed the Salopain breweries 'Hop Twister' !

Always a return visit to this lovely old pub when we visit Shrewsbury, they have fabulous food and great real ale..ruby porter ale was delicious

Unfortunately this fine pub is suffering from the double whammy of Covid and the fact that the road outside is closed long-term to both traffic and pedestrians. The latter issue sometimes makes walking directions on Google look torturous, but don't be put off. You can in fact still walk through the nearby churchyard.Even if the walk was long, the destination is worth the effort. The interior is everything that the quintessential English pub should be: the beer was top-notch, and the owner was friendly, and our fellow drinkers were interesting and informative about other drinking establishments in Shrewsbury. If you are looking for a typical, traditional pub, it rarely gets this good.October and back again: this place rocks! Fantastic beer, great atmosphere.

·

Historic pub in the heart of Shrewsbury, cask offerings a bit slim and no food offer besides baps and scotch eggs despite what Google says. Otherwise worth a visit for a quick pint

·

·

Wonderful old fashioned pub. Friendly staff and customers. 4 trad beers on draft and a range of larger and cider. They do food but not all day check serving times

·

The pub is sufering from a building project further along Fish St, go through the church yard. Pub is as good as ever, beer very much in great condition. Nice to be back.

When I wad a child this is what I thought all pubs were like. Lovely quiet atmosphere no tv or music but the sound of conversation. A lovely historic pub that probably hasn't changed since the Civil War. Serves a good selection of local beers well kept.
