Service was excellent (as always), with a fantastic view. Steak was very good. Although certain bits of the meat were chewier in places, it was still very tasty and the maple glazed carrots were divine. Everyone loved their cherry bakewells and my lemon posset was beautiful. Very lovely evening and my mum enjoyed her birthday, they even brought out a little birthday pudding to celebrate. Always a good meal here, with excellent service and wonderful views.

We stayed in the glamping tents for the night as a wedding gift! Wine tasting was great led by Sahara. We had an evening meal in the restaurant - food and service was fab and so was the atmosphere! Breakfast was also lovely with great views! We had a brilliant time!

Extremely disappointed with the service from Hencote. I contacted the venue to request a table for 20 people to celebrate my mums 60th birthday. I received an immediate response telling me this was ok and they could accommodate with a long table by the window so we could take in the lovely views. Fast forward to going in and paying the ÂŁ20pp deposit and being advised by the restaurant manager that actually no they could not accommodate us (baring in mind this event is not until august!!!). So I contacted the sales agent again via email to then not be replied to so quickly as last time! Long story short, it has been about a month of constant chasing and replies of false promises with no âgetting back to me the next dayâ as promised. Terrible, terrible service.

My husband booked a weekend away in January for my Christmas gift. He phoned and spoke to someone who assured him the accommodation was suitable for the time of year and that it would be of high quality. He booked a safri tent, having never stayed in one he had no idea what to expect but was reassured by the staff member on the phone. The 2 night stay with dinner was just under ÂŁ600.The food, restaurant, view and restaurant staff were brilliant and have no complaints there. However, the safari tent was freezing. I slept on the bathroom floor as it was heated in all my day coring, two coats and towels to cover me. My husband slept in the bedroom with clothing on and duvet over him but woke many times in the night due to the cold. We had all the heating in constant and the log burner going too.We told reception staff that we just couldnât stay another night, it was too cold to stay in there and so far from the relaxing break we paid for.We were told by the receptionist they would move us to the indoor accommodation but it was fully booked. No other safari tent was booked (now we know why). That was all the help we had, unsatisfactory. My husband went back to pay and asked if we could speak to a manager, he was that told someone would get back to usâŠ..they didnât. He then had to chase it up over a week later. He then had to wait over a week for a response. He asked if we could be refunded for the night we didnât stay. We didnât use our paid for wine tasting or the second nights evening meal or follow days breakfast. They basically said we would not be getting a refund and we should have used the heating properlyâŠ.it was all on full and log burner at every possible moment. He replied saying for ÂŁ600 for two nights it was unacceptable accommodation and said he was advised it would be a lovely stay. Second reply came over a week later again. Similar response. This is why I gave it one star, the accommodation was totally in appropriate for the time of the year and they absolutely should not be hiring them out. We both feel the customer service is really quite shocking. I would steer people away from staying here!!!!

The location is beautiful. The front of house service is very good. Friendly and efficient. We went for a late lunch. The food was so disappointing. It felt as if the food was pre prepared and warmed up (not hot) ready to accompany the main ingredient. Based on the food I would not return. That saidâŠ. itâs an upcoming destination which has so much promise. It needs to look at âThe Tawnyâ#chrisalexander#thetawny

Went to Hencote this morning, table booked for 1015, party of 11 for brunch. Service very poor, did not get food until 1115, to make matters worse, a few of the meals were cold. Table was nt cleared and really struggled to get the staffs attention. This was my families go to venue for a special occasion but 2nd poor experience in a row. For prices charged I expect a far better experience. The location and views amazing, so sad to come away dissapionted.

I was treated to a tour with wine tasting and lunch for my birthday, an absolutely beautiful spot with stunning views across Shropshire. Very interesting hearing about the history of the vineyard and being shown how to sample wine properly. Lunch was well prepared and presented (we both had tuna) with efficient and friendly service. Highly recommended.

Went for dinner with some girlfriends. The food was outstanding!!! They had plenty of gf choices which is nice to see. We drank the house sparkling wine which was so good, we bought a few bottles to go! Can't wait to go back for lunch so we can also enjoy the views.

This was a nice surprise birthday weekend away. On arrival the premises are impressive with a sprawling winding drive and smart buildings and gardens. We had the Staycation Package so stayed in one of the superior lodges and it included a breakfast hamper delivered fresh the night before and evening dining with an amount towards the meal. The lodges were clean and well thought out and the views from the veranda were of the vineyard and Shropshire hills so beautiful. The lodges have a log burner and a hot tub also heated by a log burner. Easy instructions made it a cinch to heat. Most hot tubs are screened for privacy but we had a lodge in the corner nearest the vineyard so had more privacy than some. We dined in the restaurant both nights and were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the staff attentive. The wine tour and tasting was well thought out and informative with six great wines produced at this vineyard up for tasting. Would happily recommend.

Lovely views from the restaurant. Very surprised by the car park and entrance as it was like an industrial estate. Reduced menu but that's not a problem struggled with starters but the main and desserts were delightful. Waitress was delightful, very helpful and informative. Lovely atmosphere and nicely decorated. Probably won't go back as felt it was expensive for what we ate.
