Incredibly rude landlord/manager- only him as staff and he in chef's whites, seems he can't get staff. Clueless and arrogant attitude to customers, barks at you and is confrontational if you ask any normal questions. Pub empty for good reason- avoid! Rose & Crown short distance away- Joule's ales and friendly staff.

Great hosts great food the gammon was out of this world . Stayed the night room was clean warm and cosy and a lovely breakfast next day. Well worth a visit 👌

Unfortunately we had a disappointing stay, although the rooms, bar and restaurant were clean and tidy, it was all a bit tired and could do with a makeover in the bedrooms. Mattress was uncomfortable and walls so thin conversations of next door occupants and snoring was very clearly heard.Restaurant menu was not the one advertised on the website, however it looks like its been updated now , although we still had a basic choice no starters no sweets. I was supprised the food was so average as the chef seems to enjoy showing off his knifes in the bar !Bar and cleaning staff are very welcoming but with such a lovely building and setting the owners could do so much better.

We recently visited this pub to eat following good reviews. The place was almost empty but we were still asked to wait for an hour and a half because of “the chef”. We left after a quick drink. Strange.

Visited for Sunday lunch after reading good reviews but were disappointed. Lots of food but would have preferred less and better quality. 14 types of veg but anemic roast potatoes. Can't comment on the desert as we weren't offered any. Can't comment on the coffee as we weren't offered any. Couldn't catch servers eye or ear so stood at the bar, paid and left. Strange that there were only 4 people in the pub including ourselves for Sunday lunch.

Warm , cosy welcome in this lovely historic pub. Food is excellent and we'll thought out selection of drinks, beer, cider etc. A wonderful place to sit and relax and feel a party of lovely Ludlow. Highly recommended.

Refuses to make fish fingers sandwiches!!!But the best suntrap in town. No real locals - usually people who want a quiet one.Plus I can eat two steaks, probably four, and I know where they come from and how much they cost - and also how to cook it so it has flavour and get the orders the right way round.Really ought not tell people the butcher's, as they just go look at the markup for ten minutes for a steak and pre prepared trimmings. He'll tell you they're booked up, but it's because they don't order food that isn't ordered by the customer. No bar snacks. No sandwiches. No decent beer very often, but they have hobgoblin and bombardier.Bulmers or Sharpe's.It's a shame as I used to go here every day for lunch for a sandwich and a pint for months. Now I go in because I don't want to go to the other pubs because I know this is gonna be a quiet one.No idea about the accommodation, but I would think it's pretty quiet there.Never heard a bed squeaking, and it's so quiet here at night I think people are embarrassed to make any noise in bed.Maybe that's why everyone is so wound-up lately - no one's getting any and haven't heard any for years. That'd send me to the bottle, too.Nice tourists, always pleasant conversation, if they get out of their phones.Meet all sorts there. One of my favourite pubs.

Great little pub with really friendly staff. Will definitely be popping back in for another pint next time we are in town.

Great traditional pub food. We've had a quality rump steak tonight, with a really good Malbec. Really enjoyed the company of the owners. Made us feel like locals. Thanks for an enjoyable evening.

Very cosy friendly Inn...the couple who run it are great hosts who made us very welcome. We stayed in the twin room which was warm and with very comfortable beds and an en suite shower room. Breakfast was freshly cooked and extra tea when asked for was happily supplied.I would be happy to recommend.
