Lunch for six. Clearly we were not welcome. Ordering was perfunctory. One lady verged on the rude throughout and made ir clear she did not like customers. On the whole the food and the service were good, but one main course was grossely over-cooked and inedible. We were told that it was because we had taken too long over our first courses. The price was deducted. We were warned at 2.50 and thrown out at three. The staff followed imeediatey behind us. Not to be repeated.

Very friendly staff and great service, quite often l have gone out and discovered the service is very poor quality because they don't want to be there, this young man was so helpful and very much on the ball. The food is definitely home cooked and of a very high quality.

Can I just start by saying that the ladies waiting on are lovely, kind and very welcoming. My husband and I took his 81year old mother after an hospital appointment at Gobowen hospitalWe ordered a Pot of tea for 3 and we got 3 little pots,1 each. No extra hot water for a top up so we ask and she bought yet another small teapot with water. It would of be nice to get a big pot of tea with a small pot of water for a top up....sometimes its the little things. The food was OK but I was disappointed with my cheese and onion omelet,no flavour just a lot of pepper and the chips tested stale and dry.Asked for a side dish of peas to go with the faggotts and mash and got microwaved frozen broccoli, peas, sprouts full of water.Broccoli and sprouts are Horrible from the freezer DO NOT USE.I would not return and I wouldn't recommend.I don't understand how you can get it wrong there was only 1 other couple eating.Sign on the board says quality home cooked food!!!!

We visited here yesterday, having arranged to meet up with a friend who was retiring. She chose the same as me an omelette with chips and salad. The chips were dry and cold! The omelette like leather (I could not eat mine) and my friend struggled! On mentioning this to the waitress we were told they were freshly cooked (tasted remarkably like yesterday's warmed up!)We were not impressed and very disappointed, we would agree with Wendy Ellis (see review September) and will not visit again in a hurry. If the meals were presented as efficiently as the bill there would not be a problem! One status one too many!

Lamb Sunday lunch Lamb was lovely and plenty of it but the veg was very hard, the gravy watery and the Yorkshire was more like bread. Wasn't bad for the price but certainly not the best roast

Met up with a couple of friends here. The staff were quite warm and the bread & butter pudding was very tasty. I didn't realise that they closed at 2pm on the day, went to use the loo and ended up being locked in. Lucky me, I came out before the last staff left the premises and she came to my prompt rescue. I'll never hear the end of it!π€£
