Popped in (10 minutes ago) for a pint and to check the place out as we are here for a week. The bar staff were friendly enough however the landlord was anything but!He shouted through the bar at a customer who had inadvertently taken their dog through an area where dogs were not allowed on their way to the beer garden. He then had a go at us because our little dog was sitting on her towel which was on a seat (our dog was not on the upholstered seat). We were planning on using this place as a regular eatery/watering hole for our holiday but won't be back. 2 stars because the bar staff were friendly πŸ˜•

Relaxed evening meal. Food good and not too expensive. Service good. Car park and out door seating available

Stopped off for lunchtime snack.Great as I could take my dog in the bar area.I had cheese and ham peninni which came with chips and salad.Pennini was long and thin, filled overflowing with cheese and ham - and the ham was pulled from a joint. Really tasty. Only had one ale on tap, but there was plenty of choice of other drinks.Service was good, but then I was the only person in the bar.

Last minute decision to eat out, really enjoyed a meal at the White Lion in Whittington. Friendly and quick service, relaxed atmosphere. Food was tasty, homemade and plenty of choice. Good value for money.

Lovely food and at a reasonable price. The service was quick but felt the staff where over run. Need more staff. Overall pleased.

Lunch for six. Clearly we were not welcome. Ordering was perfunctory. One lady verged on the rude throughout and made ir clear she did not like customers. On the whole the food and the service were good, but one main course was grossely over-cooked and inedible. We were told that it was because we had taken too long over our first courses. The price was deducted. We were warned at 2.50 and thrown out at three. The staff followed imeediatey behind us. Not to be repeated.

Very friendly staff and great service, quite often l have gone out and discovered the service is very poor quality because they don't want to be there, this young man was so helpful and very much on the ball. The food is definitely home cooked and of a very high quality.

Can I just start by saying that the ladies waiting on are lovely, kind and very welcoming. My husband and I took his 81year old mother after an hospital appointment at Gobowen hospitalWe ordered a Pot of tea for 3 and we got 3 little pots,1 each. No extra hot water for a top up so we ask and she bought yet another small teapot with water. It would of be nice to get a big pot of tea with a small pot of water for a top up....sometimes its the little things. The food was OK but I was disappointed with my cheese and onion omelet,no flavour just a lot of pepper and the chips tested stale and dry.Asked for a side dish of peas to go with the faggotts and mash and got microwaved frozen broccoli, peas, sprouts full of water.Broccoli and sprouts are Horrible from the freezer DO NOT USE.I would not return and I wouldn't recommend.I don't understand how you can get it wrong there was only 1 other couple eating.Sign on the board says quality home cooked food!!!!
