Big John's Chelmsley Wood in Solihull

Ordered fish & chips and chicken kebab with naan.Fish was drenched in oil that has not been changed for a while. All you can taste was oil.Chips where hard with rotten ends.Chicken kebab was a mess salad mayo chill mixed like a paste. Naan was powdery.Cost me £18.00 Near ever again in any branch.

Value for money on £1.59 burger , wrap and pizza + fries. Chips quality is improved. Pizza has always been good and now more improved

Unclean Table, Cold Donner meat that felt like the Timing Belt of my Old Nissan Micra, worse of All hair was in the chips that put me off completely, showed it to management didnt even bother, So dont waste money and dont risk your Health by eating at Big john

Disgusting cold food. Donner burger literally had 3 strips of donner in it, asked for no burger sauce but they still put it in. Chips were cold and stale. Nuggets are advertised as breast chicken but they give you the cheap processed chicken ones…and lastly my cheese and Tomato pizza had so much cheese on it it was literally hanging off the slices. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Food is tasty however prices don't justify it, 5.00 for a fillet burger which is so small….

Had a kebab very small for £5.00 not very warm . A few days later I had chips and donner meat £5.50 not much in the box a few chips and a few slivers of kebab meat,and again not very warm... used to get value for money,but not anymore. I will take my big belly and get my takeaway somewhere else from now on . The drive through takes a lot longer than parking the car going through the doors and being served, they have 2 windows but usually only use the one for order and wait for your food, which isn't really how it works.

Pizzas are good value & quite tasty. Rest of the food is pretty standard compared to what's on offer in the surrounding area.Not outstanding, but not bad either

I find this particular branch extremely inconsistent. Iv grown up with enjoying Big Johns (Shirley Branch) however Chelmsley wood branch aways seems to let me down everytime. Not just with food quality, but now with closing times. They are supposed to be closing at 1pm however had to turn me away because apparently they have to close and start cleaning up at 23:30… which i did not believe. Very disappointing… i think you need a new manager.

I just had to pay £130 because I over stayed in the car park in 2019 its a joke I still can't believe it. Because of this I will never go bigjohns ever again trying to ripp people off food isn't good aswell. After 3 years they send me me a fine if I didn't pay it would go to court. Really 😠 😡

Bought a small portion of chips @ £1-65p on Tuesday 15/02/2022 at about 18-15pm. The service was good, but when I opened the box at home [5miles away] it looked as though they had been cooked the day before, they were rubbery when I put the fork in them and there were some bits that had been over cooked. This is the first and last time I will visit this place. Definitely a fish and chip place to be avoided at all costs
