Great carvery,meat wasn't dry,which is always good,beware the deserts!cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding deserts were lovely, portions big enough for two.definitely go backlovely staff

Took my girls couple times in school holidays, first time was lovely, nice food and good service, second time had to wait while for food and wasn't very warm. Our server was lovely on both occasions same young lady, Kelly, dark hair, i think her name was. Hopefully food warmer next time come.

I ordered a mixed grill. The mashed potato was cold, I saw them put it on from the carvery section! The steak was ordered medium rare and came out well done, we took it back but was more blue the second time! Staff service was awful, did not get asked how the food was and waitress only cleared half the plates, not friendly at all. Hill field used to be an amazing place but sadly this will be my last trip.

Visited on Sunday. The place was packed. One of the managers Victoria very kindly went to check if there was a spare table for our family. Success. We were very grateful after being told the waitress was cleaning one for us. We opted for the carvery and although there was a queue we were served quickly and efficiently. The food was excellent. Ample choice of veg and meat was cooked to perfection.We had desserts and the cake and ice cream was to die for. Huge!I have to mention the whole time we were sat at the table the same lovely manager Victoria was continually buzzing round the place, checking on tables, directing staff and clearing plates. Her work ethic was admirable and all with a smile on her face.Also have to say the young lad serving behind the bar was very cheery considering how busy it was. 10/10 visit! See you all soon.

I'll start by saying the food was actually decent. But....- I tried ringing 5 times to book a table as it was for a birthday meal and didn't want to be disappointed if the place was fully booked. I couldn't get through at all. It kept saying that the person I am trying to contact was on "another line".- Their selection of diet drinks is appalling in this day and age. I am a type 1 diabetic and my choice was coke or Dr pepper. Neither of which I like at all! Glass of water it is then!- When we went to queue up for the carvery there was no sign of anyone serving. Waited a good 5 minutes till anybody came to serve us.- No one came to ask if everything was okay with our mealSo the food was nice but the customer service could definitely be improved!

Well what an absolute delight eating lunch here with my Godfather today! We both had the standard carvery (and it was huge). The food was fabulous and served brilliantly by the chef who was a very nice, attentive man. The meats we had were cooked to perfection and the massive array of vegetables were just brill! Victoria was amazing, she chatted to us and made us feel so welcome. Personable and professional and we will certainly be returning here in the not too distant future. Thanks all, see you soon 😃

Went for a meal here this afternoon, wish we hadn’t bothered. I ordered chicken & ribs. “Sorry got no chicken or ribs”, so I ordered rump steak, “sorry got no steak, in fact we have everything on the menu except for beef, chicken or ribs” . So I ordered an all day breakfast and hubby ordered a curry. Ok food order eventually taken….thought I’d be safe ordering a Diet Coke…..wrong “ we have no Diet Coke only Coke Zero”.After 30 minutes wait (even though there were only about 10 customers in the pub, it was 4pm.) our food was brought out, hubby’s curry was lukewarm and my all day breakfast was stone cold. I went to use the salt on the table, it was empty, I asked for ketchup, I was presented with 2 empty bottles and told “this is all we have” when approached by a member of staff asking is everything alright with your meals I answered no, so the young lady fetched a senior member of staff who offered to heat my meal back up!!! I don’t know if it was a joke and she meant to say we will cook you another but those words didn’t come out of her mouth.I told the lady that it was pointless as my husband and I had come out for a meal together not so he could eat his while I watched then he could watch me eat mine another half hour later! She insisted, so I gave her my plate. I also made it clear to her about the whole negative experience we had there today. “I’m sorry about that” I was told, then she explained they had no Diet Coke for weeks!!!! Never mentioned the absent chicken, ribs, steaks, salt, ketchup. She did offer me a drink while I waited but I couldn’t even have what I wanted cos they had none! So I didn’t bother.Eventually after another 15 minutes wait for my missing meal I told her to tell them to forget it and I’d have the cost of mine refunded. I wasn’t offered anything for my trouble, just a half hearted sorry. Needless to say we will avoid this place like the plague from now on. I wouldn’t waste my time going here, very disappointed in the poor service. We have gone here lots of times previously but I’d rather take my custom where it will be appreciated.

I went there for my birthday as a treat with my wife and another couple. I was shown to our table quickly and efficiently. I had creamy chicken in a sauce with the option of a baked potatoe or chips. I chose chips. My meal was very tasty and would give 5 stars on that. My wife had steak well done again with chips. The steak was very fatty and chewy when we complained they said they can't cut all the fat off 1 star for food 0-star customer complaint. The couple had a double breaded chicken burger, which looked nice. They said it was spicy but very dry.Won't go there again.

This place is awesome! We've been twice now. Once on a midweek evening and once on a Saturday lunch. Both times the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. The vegetarian options are brilliant and the meat carvers are very generous. Great for the money. Thank you!

Recommended for family gathering.Delicious food and their amazing desserts. Their massive portion of Cheesecake and Ice creams, superb ❤❤Dont worry if the portion is too big and you cant finish it, they are definitely ready for takeaway containers to bring home leftovers 😁😁
