Olton Tavern in Solihull

Fantastic!!! I had a steak, I ordered blue I got blue not something that happens very often and I can only compliment the chef. My wife ordered fish it was so fresh and had been perfectly cooked again, compliments to the chef. I had 2 pints of real ale my order was simply a pint of your darkest ale, I got exactly that from the knowledgeable bar staff and the beer was perfect, well kept by a professional cellar person. All in all 100% I would definitely go again and recommend this pub highly.

Family meal on a Friday evening, and we had the last available table. Typical Ember Inns food etc, and good value and tasty. There was a buzz about the place. Had the french dipping burger. No idea the french did that. And no need to emulate them again, bit the burger was really juicy without the dipping sauce thing. See photos.

We order 2 x fish and chips which looked like a piece of fish cut in half and contained very little fish and lots of dried up batter we was refunded for this, we also ordered hunters chicken which had the chicken with a square cheese placed on top which wasn’t warm enough to melt the plastic cheese and was poor, we also had a ultimate burger which was hardly ultimate and again poor, each of these meals had no more than 7 chips on each plate, on a plus side the mixed grill was good and the waiter and waitress service was excellent.I wasn’t going to do a review but due to the poor response from the pub it’s obvious the customer service is as good as some of the food it served.

Went for lunch with my partner. Staff were pleasant but sticky tables at midday shows a distinct lack of pride in the place. Beer was cloudy and food was alright at best. Won't be hurrying back.

Friendly atmosphere with friendly staff. Good selection of ale. Haven't eaten here yet but will definitely be trying it soon.

Lovely staff and to the chief that day that helped with my grandsons lunch Thankyou! Very helpful very clean the vegan/ vegetarian food has plenty on the menu all meals that were ordered that day were lovely will definitely be returning 👍

Good food at very reasonable prices. Service was excellent and staff were very friendly. The pub itself was very clean. Would eat thear again.

BEST PUB IN BIRMINGHAM! Came on a Saturday and there was a dj absolutely amazing food drinks music. Dawn the manager makes the whole night. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Called in on a weekday lunch time and had not booked, and there were plenty of tables available. The menu was good but typical of a pub chain. It had good selection that would please most people for a lunchtime bite. But if you were after gourmet food you would be disappointed.The staff were really excellent, well trained and attentive, without been a overbearing.

Amazing quality, wasn’t expecting it. The calamari were delicious and the portion was more than generous. Burgers also very fresh. I would complain about the service time, as it took around 40 minutes for our food to arrive, but I guess the fact that the restaurant was full it’s a good excuse
