The Eight Brasserie in Solihull

First of all : nice place , good food with various choices, good drinks and wine , cheese and desert. A good selection of traditional French meals. My colleagues and myself enjoyed the dinner. They really appreciated the tartiflette. I took the lemon sole meunière and crab maison. Both were delicious !!.The red wine was good as well : côte de Beaunes - village.I’m gourmand so I also took the cheese plate : nice, a good selection of French cheese.I should give 5 stars but, as a French, eating in a « French » restaurant, I expected the little extra in terms of service. For instance, to have the specific cutlery for fish, to have a different glass for beers. Details : yes , but it should be considered to complete the good experienceSure, I’ll come back with family. Lovely Atmosphere at Cote, service was 1st class & the meal was delicious, had a Fabulous Valentines Evening.

Food was delicious, the restaurant is airy, cosy and clean. The main( tartiflette) looks to me more like a starter in terms of size but it’s served with 4 slices of bread to compensate, that is fine with me… Be aware of the 12,5% service charge!

I went with my friend on Sunday 9th January for dinner. The food and drinks were really nice. I had the fish pie and shared garlic fogasse with my friend. I liked the cocktail I had as well, the 75 I think it's called. The drink was light, the pie was moreish and the staff were nice and welcoming. It felt very French and Parisian which was great 😊

Staff are excellent! The food was good but our cote dubouef was was not cooked as to our request and not rested enough as the waiter managed to drip blood all over the table cloth! I really should of sent it back but my 86yr old mom was treating us and I didn't want to upset her by complaining as it was her fist night out in over a yr

We visit most Friday evenings, this was our first visit 2022. They now have an Alpine Specials menu. Decided on giant mushroom vol au vent ... am not a vegetarian .. but this was truly delicious. The sliced mushrooms in a creamy sauce 👍, perfectly cooked vol au vent. Fortunately enough my husband hadthe beef cheek bourgeon that comes with a pot of tasty gravy. A spot of gravy on the cabbage/kale base was a bonus. This isn't a full hearty meal, but I wasn't looking for that, with a starter or dessert I imagine it would satisfy. Staff very friendly, offered a wine taster prior to ordering.

We visited at a busy time of year to have brunch. Maria, our waitress was very hospitable. We were celebrating my brother's birthday and the service was impeccable. Maria and the team wrote my brother a very sweet birthday card and at the end of the meal, presented him with a cheesecake and fruit. We were pleasantly surprised because not many places offer an actual substantial dessert to celebrate. The food portion and quality of food was great and our whole dining experience was definitely worth 5 stars. Thank you to all the team but especially Maria who ensured that everything was incredible. Without doubt worth every penny.

Ok, so that was the first visit to Vote in Solihull and we liked it actually. The decor is not overwhelming it's similar to Loch Fynn chain of restaurants, we didn't eat steak over there as I got to the point where I make myself a better one on the BBQ, but the food was good quality. I had a Beef Cheeks which were nicely done with some gravy and mash potatoes, all in all it was tasty, the only slight downside was my wife's burger,:( they told us that the restaurant can't make any medium rare burgers as per their rules which is very surprising as the meat quality was good and it had a proper smell to it, do they do the same with steaks? Hmmmm not sure..... If you guys can start making a medium rare burger it would have been 5 stars as everything on that burger played nicely together.

Lovely new branch of the Cote empire. The usual Fraco-English fair at their usual fair prices. Food was quickly served and were good portions. The Manager excelled himself by changing a cocktail we'd commented was very bitter. Super service. Finally we think the availability of Aperol Spritz would be appreciated by the clientele, particularly us.
