Nice pub on the canal. Had sunday lunch which was OK, would have been nice to have a bit more gravy, but as no one asked how our food was we didn't get to ask for any.

Fantastic place. Staff amazing and helpful, very friendly can't do enough....but you want to know about the food....omg if I said the whale (battered fish) that was brought out was anything to go by ....soooo worth the visit and a great selection of brews. Chloe on the bar was a joy x get in while you can as it fills up RAPID at weekend

Went here to celebrate with family for father-in-law's birthday. Although staff were friendly and mostly helpful, glassware was visibly not clean and food was very disappointing. We all had items missing from orders, sides arriving way after mains and portion sizes were so small for some of the mains you could mistake them for starters. This was especially so for the Crab and prawn fishcakes which was advertised as a main but was more like an appetizer. They were basically puffed up potato cakes with no obvious actual crab or prawn in them. The dining area was also incredibly cold, it felt like a door had been left open, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. Absolute disaster! So disappointing considering all the other positive reviews we saw... and I don't think our experience was a one off as I see others have had a similar experience. Wouldn't recommend this place for food, maybe just go for a drink instead!

Slowest service I have ever received. My partner and I visited for a New Year’s Day meal. After waiting 50 minutes for drinks, I asked the waiter where they were. He explained he hadn’t put them through the till. We waited a further 15 minutes and they were still not here, nor was the food, which had not gone through the till either but we were not informed of this until I asked where it was!We decided to leave as it was 5pm by this point, an hour of our New Year’s Day had been wasted sat waiting for slow and unprofessional staff to serve us basic orders. On New Year’s Day, of any day of the year, you expect the service to be prompt and professional, of which it was neither. All we were offered was a free drink as a gesture of gratuity yet we still hadn’t received our initial drinks ordered over an hour before!Would not return. Bad service, slow staff and the manager didn’t care when we explained we were leaving. The staff need basic training as our experience left a very bad taste, which was ironic as we hadn’t eaten.

It had been a while since I'd been here, so I was surprised by the improvement over my last visit. For a chain pub the food was excellent, more towards a gastro pub, with well thought out flavour combinations, decent portions and, attractive presentation. Staff were friendly and attentive. My only criticism is that there were only 2 real ales to choose from. Overall a pleasant experience.

Great place to stay. Top notch food great staff. Fantastic breakfast nice cosy rooms in a nice setting next to canal, with barges on the water. What's not to like. Recommend to anyone who wants a nice break in that area

Delicious dishes and a good selection of drinks at this country canal side pub.The king's arms is a must visit. The staff are super friendly and are very attentive to all our needs. The canal side is a particular highlight where you can relax on a Sunday afternoon in the sun or under the umbrellas.Expect to pay ÂŁ14-15 for a roast on a Sunday.

I visited with my wife, sister and her husband.I hope the images convey the wonderful atmosphere we felt upon entering the restaurant. The staff have an air of calmness and treated my wife with patience and and understanding not often found in some establishments. The entire staff we came into contact with were wonderful. The service was not rushed. The food was excellent and I can thoroughly recommend the menu.Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
