Proper old school pub. Food is good, beer is better, children come out toughened. Tish and Cat are decent hosts.

Great Locals pub, went for childs birthday party in function room. Buffet catered extremely well for food intolerances. Recommended.

Just a decent local boozer, friendly staff, organised events, reasonably priced. If you don't fancy a whole meal you can grab a cob for 1.50

Omg this pub is rough what has happened there. A couple in their 20's even had a dog in the lounge, come on landlord get rid of the dogs. Not the pub I used to know. You have got good barmaids. Sorry for being so negative, I was surprised can't get over what has happened.

TBH i dont know why we dont visit here more often, I guess as the J is closer then that's as good a reason as any. Nice to see a different range of lager on offer to the standard M&B fayre. We also tried the food for the first time which was pleasant enough. The back garden could use a tidy up, even if to cut the grass in the seating area, and a few benches need some repair. And need to get cask ales back on as soon as they can. Other than that I'm sure most will find it to be a welcoming and enjoyable pub.

Hired the function room on the 4th Jan. You had to put down a deposit and pay for food only - not a bad price for what we got including sandwiches, spring rolls, these really nice meat things and a separate meal for a guest who has allergies.We got to set up the room in the morning and the only rule was no bluetac (spelling?) on the wallpaper.The bar staff were handy, they provided a speaker so we can have our own music and kept coming round to take drink orders and check we were all OK.The pub had a live band on that night however in the Snug you couldn't really hear it.Would definitely hire again in the future if needed.
