Himley Country Hotel in South Staffordshire

AVOID ! AVOID! AVOID!Stayed in this hotel from 29th April to Sunday 1 May and to be honest it’s the worst mistake of my lifeWORST hotel I have ever been to? First of all I believe they need to be banned from booking.com as the pictures they are selling for their rooms is nothing close to what you will be offeredUpon raising the issue with reception and manager, there was no acceptance of guilt and the manager was also very rude throughout the stay.First time staying in a hotel only to see all electrics and heating go off and upon reporting the issue I had to wait for about an hour to get it fixed.I checked their reviews on the main hotel website and looks like I’m not the only one who had such a terrible experience, lot of people have complained about same issueI am actually shocked such hotels are still available here on Booking.com. I am a frequent user of booking.com and this is my first time experiencing anything close to thisI know for sure that Airbnb will not allow such things to happen to their users therefore I urge booking.com to look into thisI have attached pictures to state of my room as I first entered, comparing to what was offered, you can see this is blatant abuse

Rooms smell of smoke, dirty, no cold water and view of a skip and broken furniture. Whole hotel at least 30 years over due for a revamp.Yes it is very cheap and for good reason. No I wouldn't stay there again

Room was unclean burnt iron stains on the pillows. Bathroom had a leaking pipe from the shower cubical so could hear drips all night. Nobody is quick to come to reception. Unable to connect to the guest WiFi as was too far from reception. Car park Road surface isn't the best. Overall I wouldnt stay again, only stayed to be close to Dudley where I was working.

Rooms average. Could do with modernising, but not a real problem. Bar not run efficiently though. Ran out of beer on my last visit, and staff do not man the bar all the time.

Been to a wedding fair this morning, absolutely stunning, welcome Reception with lovely helpful staff, the conservatory and bar was lovely, really like the recent refurbishment and the resident dj occasions was fab. Will defently be recommending, We'll Done to the new management team who taken over its amazing

For the price it was absolutely great.Yes it's dated but it's not advertised as a 5 star hotel. You get what you pay for. Love all the mirrors in corridors.Plenty of parking.Lady at the desk was lovely.Bed was comfortable.Water was hot.Tea and coffee in the room.Not much more need for a short stay.I would stay again.

Really good value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble. The hotel has recently changed hands and the improvements are impressive. Have used Himley Country Hotel many times and can't wait to see the finished results . Hope they start serving food again soon - their breakfasts were especially tasty.

Stayed at hotel over new years for a 3 star hotel i thought was good. Rooms clean and beds conforatable as i tried out only booked 1 night then booked another. Bathroom was good and for the price it was its well worth it being a travel agent i can say it was alot better then i expected it to be. Also having renovations to improve will stay again in due course.

Please do not stay at this hotel, dirty scruffy out of date. Pay the extra and stay somewhere else. When we mentioned to the manager how bad the rooms were the only comfort he offered was to say they are better than they was. Please take our advice.

Disgraceful attitude towards guest's.Cleaners just walking into your room when your still in bed. Doors left wide open so you belongings can be stolen. No-one to stop all night room partying. No manager on site to speak too. No point in complaining as you don't even get a response. Staff shouting through the doors of guest's rooms telling them to leave. Maintenance be carried out continuously. What more can you say this place is horrendous, do not book here you will be very disappointed. Shocking to say the least. They advertise quiet rooms what a joke. Ended up booking somewhere else and moving out early, iv wrote and asked for a refund they haven't even had the decency to return a letter call or email.
