Fabulous pub on the bank of the canal in Penkridge. Friendly and perfect for a relax in the sunshine watching the friendly barge crews go by.

Friendly staff and would be great in the summer sitting outside next to the canal. Just as good inside next to the coal fire.

Hasn't changed At ALL since about 1987, plaster slap on the white washed walls, dark brown fake beams, red velour seats, saloon doors as ornaments on the walls etc etc, the only reason it survives today must be down to the 35 years worth of savings by not doing anything to it, how it its still there defies logic

Been again today and enjoyed our lunch - as usual - fat and full now. Lovely staff and very welcoming. Pubs decked out for Christmas and looks and feels very ChristmasyHad a thoroughly enjoyable quick lunch on Friday (cheese and onion cobs with home made chips - scrumptious) so decided on Sunday lunch when our son visited with grandchildren. Can not fault the dinner and pudding - piping hot and absolutely delicious. Service and staff where very attentive and polite. Highly recommended- you will not be disappointed…

Nice little pub on the banks of a canal. Plenty of outdoor space to spend time on a nice day watching the narrow boats sail by. Decent pint of ale !

The Cross Keys is a lovely warm, welcoming pub.I used to come here as a child with my family as we lived near-by. It hasn't changed much. It's lovely to sit out the front and watch the barges go by on the canal. They have a great size beer garden which is wonderful for families. All in all a fab traction pub.

Nice canal side pub. 2 to 5 day moorings either side of the bridge. Very friendly and warm inside.
