Good selection of beer and wine and a nice atmosphere.Didn't try the food, but eaten there before and it was nice.Edit: Ate a couple of meals there around Christmas and the food was good, reasonably priced and there wasn't much of a wait for it.I did eat there a couple of times during lock down and they are taking nice Corona precautions. However I just ate the 8oz rump steak and it was OK but a bit too well done for medium rare. Will ask for rare next time.Visited again and had a lovely rare steak, they are certainly serving some good food at the moment. Upping the star rating to 5/5.

Lovely little village pub. Classic pub food. I had the club Sandwich which was delicious and huge. Children's meals were decent too. A little disorganised staff wise but probably a bad day on our visit. Staff were very friendly and polite.

The lovely village of Pattingham straddles the Shropshire-Staffordshire border and is, amazingly, just over seven miles from the centre of Wolverhampton. That’s actually one of the reasons the place, although blessed with ample rustic charm, also has a “real” character feel about it.Another key factor in Pattingham’s great appeal to locals and visitors alike is the Pigot Arms. At the heart of the village, overlooking what used to be the Bull Ring and opposite the picturesque St Chad’s church, the building emits “property country pub” vibes on approach; and more than lives up to the promise when you step inside. There’s always a great mixture of characters in there, both regulars and those who’ve travelled further (and often go on to become regulars themselves, whole families, generations), plus ever-welcomed dogs providing their humans with the perfect excuse to pop in for one or oh-go-on-then another of the various well-kept ales and excellent variety of spirits etc. Then there’s the food. Again, hearty proper pub grub with extra helpings of character and variety, from superb burgers (vegan included) via pies, glorious pies, to triumphs like their half duck with orange sauce – sublime – and the heroic mixed grill: all from a menu which gets seasonally renewed but has the good sense and taste to retain all the favourites. You can eat in the restaurant and bar (and, UK climate permitting, in the pretty enclosed rear garden or fronting onto the street); or just settle in by the fire with a drink or, maybe, oh-go-on-again-then, treat yourself to a light bite… or perhaps one of their fantastic sharing platters…Tasty food, cooked and served with care, decently priced: perfect for any occasion – Sunday Lunch being just one of the many reasons you’ll be finding to come back to the Pigot. In the end, it would take a lot more time for me to go through my personal recommendations, so I’ll just stick to the prime one – just come to the Pigot and see/eat/drink and be merry for yourselves.Oh, go on then – just one thing before you go; and actually saving the best till last… The final touch of Pigot perfection you need to know about is the brilliant, friendly team who keep the place beating away at the heart of Pattingham. From kitchen to restaurant and bar, the staff here take hospitality as something more, and much better, than a mere “industry” – they make it about the people, the experience. Stacey & Ian’s fantastic crew, ‘Chelle’s busy kitchen, Gareth and Romana in the bar & restaurant with Lily, Siobhan, Zoe, new arrivals Luke & Dan… this outstanding team already has a great setting and ingredients to work with. Their warmth and dedication, though, elevate any Pigot visit to a first-name-terms sense of community that is the essence of the great British pub.

We visited on Monday 12th August around 3.30pm, We was greeted as soon as we walked in and offered a table (table 12) The pub was quiet when we arrived, it is a nice , comfortable, country pub. we ordered a drink and had a look through the menu. My wife ordered the smothered chicken and i opted for the rosemary & buttermilk coated chicken burger, the meals arrived in a reasonable time and were presented very well, food tasted great and a decent portion too. Staff checked back to ensure everything was ok with our meals. We ordered coffees and 4 mini puds to share which consisted of baileys profiteroles, chocolate brownie cheesecake, bread & butter pudding fingers and chocolate salted caramel torte served with a little bowl of hot custard to dip the bread & butter fingers in. WOW!! what an amazing sweet treat this was :)Went to the bar to pay the Bill and got 50% off the main meals as they have a promotion on until September so this made the visit even better ;)Might try and get back again before the promotion ends and try some more of their appetising menu.
