The Spread Eagle in South Staffordshire

Been to this spacious pub on several different occasions fur a meal . This time I used the online booking system which was easy and efficient enough with n9 issues . When i arrived my booking was all correct on the system. Options are available for the vegetarian carvery which tasted very nice. Staff were polite and well mannered. 👍

Popped in to use the EV charging and the bathroom. Easy set up from Osprey Thanks.Really great that Marston's have installed these chargers but things move on and there are many more chargers about now. I would rarely go out of my way for a single unit like this (what if it's already in use) and there's still no canopy to keep you dry in the rain.Keep improving and you'll get mode stars.

Cheap prices, the carvery looked nice but didn't taste very nice at all so litterly only ate a bite of each thing Marston's need to stop with the frozen food!

Went for an afternoon carvery. Very nice. Took my nan who is in a wheelchair. Pub is easily accessible inside however the wheelchair access outside was blocked by bikes, made it difficult to manoeuvre, but we got in. Only scored a 4/5 based on the food being slightly cold however understand we had a carvery so was on the hot plate.

Good prices but carvery not really tasty. Tasteless cooked cabbage and peas. One of the staff members is not friendly.

A great place for pub food. Very friendly helpful staff and a good vegan menu in addition to the traditional menu. A good breakfast as well.

I used the Spread Eagle frequently for work (prior to Covid) but now in back to normal mode.One night stay for work in Stafford and booking again for another visit today.My wife was with me this time. Decided she wants to come back with me next time!Excellent Carvery as usual - the best. Gent serving / Chef was great.Manager very helpful. Great accommodation.

Staff were nice, rooms were very clean and well kept and cleaners were also very kind and friendly. Only downside however is the person I was staying with requested a toothbrush from reception, of which they said yes and would provide to us later that evening, they never provided it unfortunately even after asking a few times. Not sure if they forgot or did not have one but was unclear, everything else was very positive

Nice place, visited January 2022 for my mom's birthday. They reserved us a table of 15 in our own little area of the restaurant. Food is good and a reasonable price. Pub food menu available ( mixed grill, burgers, steak etc) or the carvery options.Beef was a little tough on the carvery and they ran out of Gammon just as I got to the serving counter . Still really enjoyed our visit and will go there again.Recommended.

Lovely hotel with a good location and nice rooms.I loved the rooms and the location, it was a very good location and was a beautiful and warm room. The food at the restaurant was beautiful and very reasonably priced. I also liked all of the toiletries in the bathroom as they were good quality and smelt wonderful.Very small thing but there was no one to check us in when we arrived. Check in is through the restaurant which means you have to go through the restaurant with all of your bags and they're often taking orders etc. It was very secure but perhaps a bit too much, we had to swipe our key to get into the hotel block main doors, then into the doors with the rooms, then again into the corridor with the stairs to go up to our room, it all felt a bit too much. Breakfast the following morning was also quite long.
