"A welcoming and comfortable pub in Stafford town centre, refurbished in 2017. The pub has a traditional feel to it with three rooms and open fires. It also has a function room for private hire and it also hosts live music on Sunday evenings. It boasts the biggest beer garden in Stafford town centre. The pub offers home cooked food to complement the ales it serves, including a Carvery on Sundays (served from 12 to 4). Part of the 'Birds' history is as a Joules of Stone pub and the trademark cross can still be seen on the outside door frames. It is the nearest pub to Stafford railway station."

My wife & i called into this pub today, this is the first time we've been here & it certainly won't be the last, the staff were exceptionally helpful, a good menu & the food was excellent, I just wish we'd have called in many times before but we'll make up for it now.

Went in for lunch today for the first time. Specials menu, plus normal menu and senior citizens menu, I had a burger of the menu and was so filling and delicious, my mum had 2 courses off the seniors menu and was so impressed....plentiful, lovely hot food and looked beautiful. The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming as were the staff and the fire put the topper on a chilly day, cant wait to try more off the menu soon

Love this place. It’s a REAL pub. Great range of ales, nice food and fabulous service. Bar area, lounge with real fire and a lovely outdoor area. The staff are great. You can try thirds of all the ales. #RealAle

The owner went out her way to make sure all guest needs we're met at my friends wedding. She catered for my dairy intolerance the food was lovely. Especially the crisps forgot to ask what they were called. Lol the wedding layout was so beautiful and the Staff were so polite and great with kids especially getting the balloons down for them off the ceiling. And the set up they did out back for photos and food spread for the guests looked amazing my two fussy eating kids loved the pasta they served and the chips they served was amazing too. Overall I would recommend this lovely pub for all Events they will have you covered and leaving happy. ❤️

We started using this pub a while back,it's a train ride away from where we live but always worth the journey. Friendly staff and good Ales from Black Country Ales,and they look after us old codgers!

Was here for a Civil Partnership reception on Saturday.Old pib vibes inside with a more modern outside seating space (lots of seats & rain cover)The staff were all friendly & helpfulThe buffet food was a good standardThe atmosphere was niceLoos, we're well kept.I think we might try their Sunday carvery soon sounds nice.
