Had a sit down meal here as we were passing through the area. Menu had a lovely selection with something for everyone and the bar was fully stocked with draught, spirits and soft drinks. Cracking prices considering everything going on. Highlight for me was the staff. Extremely attentive and polite. Chatted with us and were just really friendly (mainly with the two boys playing with Dave the Lab haha).

We stayed overnight with our toddler and 2 dogs and cannot fault a single thing! We ate our evening meal there and breakfast and the menus were great for both! Food was delicious, and the staff really couldn't have done more for us from the monent we arrived! Every single member of staff were friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. For both meals they sat us in a lovely area for our toddler to have space and they provided us with milk for his evening bottle to save us going to the shop! Our room was lovely and we had so much space for all of us. Everything was reasonably priced but still great quality! Can't recommend it highly enough!

Excellent service. Top quality food one of the best local restaurants and has been for many years. The chicken liver pate was the best I've ever eaten and both our mains were excellent. Great selection of drinks as well.

Hotel and bar, we just stopped off for a Sunday Lunch. Pleasantly surprised to find a free electric car charging point (only 1 though). The pub has that proper Staffs village pub feel to it and has spacious grounds which will be great in the summer.Service was quick and the staff were all attentive, drinks prices were a little higher than usual for a Staffordshire country pub but food was very reasonable, arrived quickly and was delicious. Will definitely be popping back for an evening meal at some point

Somebody accidentally spilt a plate of food down my back. That wasn’t an issue accidents happen I get that, I saw the rogue napkin get stuck in slow motion which cause my fruity end.I had second hand embarrassment for the server who was mortified. Not her fault for the review. What bothered me was the girl who’s plate had been dropped had a new meal prepared a fresh plate and a fully comped meal and drink and yet nobody asked if I was ok after vigorously wiping down my back? I didn’t even get an apology??The actually meal wasn’t to my taste the jackfruit was very spicy like VERY spicy and the taco shells were extremely stale, the other person in my party who had them couldn’t even eat their meal.If you do like veggie/vegan food my partner had the brownie and whilst it was a tacky texture it was good, very “chocolate-y”And the rest of my party seemed happy with their meals. All in all the veggie options were very lacking. Would not recommend.Service was mediocre at best.Just non of it seems worth the price.

A shame ia how I would describe. A lovely building that needs a lot of work to bring upto date. Perhaps spoilt by the Swan with Two Necks yesterday. Lovely soup, mediocre roast with stale roast potatoes. Very flavourless. Dessert was tasty but thrown on the plate. Coffee is awful. £79.65 for two but it was mothers day. Not one on the list to return too.

Not too bad, made a booking and we had a bar table, right by the log fire so it was nice and warm, the team were great and attended to us whenever we needed them, the drinks were great and choice was also good, the food was okay, not as impressed as what I was expecting, the steak was cooked well but for a £25 sirloin I would expect more meat than gristle, this is the only fault I could find, I did let the staff know and had an apology but as mentioned I would expect a better cut for the price.

Sat outside with the dog on a sunny day and enjoyed some soup, chips and a sandwich. Nice location and the pub looked nice inside. Prices were average but food was lovely, the soup especially tasty. Will return for a full meal some time in the future.
