Swan Inn at Forton in Stafford

We arrived at 12 noon for Sunday lunch. We did not have the listed Sunday lunch, but I can say that the Sunday lunch plates we saw going out looked spectacular. The atmosphere was happy and cozy. Service was good, nothing left to be desired. Our starters - bread with olives and prawn cocktail - were delicious. The olives were truly tasty, the bread was fresh and the prawn cocktail and garnish all lived up to my expectations. We had the children’s sausages with sweet potato fries and peas for our 17 month old son. We appreciated that the food didn’t come out piping hot, because that meant the little one could start munching immediately. His meal came with our starters, but all was yummy and substantial value for money. We loved our mains of full rack of ribs and seabass. The seabass was perfectly cooked, with crispy, seasoned skin, yet flaky and moist inside. I enjoyed a great balance of sweet, sour and salty in the dish. The ribs were well cooked and clearly smoked on the premises. The meat fell off the bones.Sides were fantastic; very fresh and tasteful, incl mash, fries, sweet potato fries, peas & tender stem broccoli. They were not overcooked and presented perfect flavour levels. We were served a zesty New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. My partner enjoyed the Joule’s on tap beers tremendously. We had no capacity to consume any kind of dessert, but will endeavour to do so next time. We’ll be back.

Absolutely Amazing Cheesey Nacho's to share as a starter,, Best I've ever tasted, Food Is Amazing, Freshly Cooked to Order well worth the sml wait ,, Highly recommend trying if you haven't before ☺️

A great pub with an interesting history reflected in the cleverly created decor. The food menu is interesting and well put together and the food is beautifully cooked and well presented. All locally sourced. The plates were hot which these days is a detail often lacking elsewhere. Great service too We ate here Wednesday lunchtime with friends and will definitely be back. Thank you to all at The Swan.

Absolute outstanding place! Me and my partner stayed the night here last weekend, and the room was amazing. With all the staff being super friendly and very knowledgeable when asking for drink recommendations! We both will definitely be coming back!Would highly recommend!

Very enjoyable meal at the Swan at Forton. Food excellent ,very good menu choices. Staff very friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Service very good. One of our party is very critical when eating out said he could not fault anything. We will definitely return.

Warm reception from staff, great food and drinks. There were to fires on either side of the entrance, making the place warm and cosy. We have been to a few Joules pubs and we have always been pleased with them. Will definitely return to this one.

Had a family meal there today 30 1 22. Sorry guys the vote was not good. Turkey salty . And not good at all. Rest of the meal was barely warm. Worse meal for years. 😔😔😔😔 The 10% reduction was a insult. Waste of good hard earned money. Be aware.

Used to be my local many years ago and to be honest it's as friendly as it ever was, great atmosphere, great ales and food. Well worth a visit. Easy parking.

Very attentive staff. Coped well with a large party. Christmas meal was very good. Thank you for making this a pleasurable event without any mishaps.

If I'm passing I like to go for an easy meal. I say this because it always seems to satisfy without any fuss. This time the staff were accommodating, friendly and never pushy. The tables were clean and not sticky like some establishments. My order was handled and delivered within a reasonable time and the food was fresh and hot. Only the burgers today, but coupled with the exceptional chips it was more than enough. Thank you and see you again.
