The Spotgate Inn in Stafford

Had a really lovely meal tonight. It was our first visit after a day on the Churnet Valley Railway and it was excellent. All the staff were outstanding, very attentive and served our meals in good time. Would recommend it.

We love this Restaurant and have just learned it is closing in July. 😭 We've had several perfect Christmas Dinners here and its here, tonight, where I chose to have my 70th Birthday dinner, with my Husband . The standard of service is outstanding. We have never been disappointed. I am sad we may have had our last meal here.

Excellent. Recently refurbished into a modern looking pub/restaurant but keeping the incredible features of 2 luxury Pullman Railway carriages for dining experience. Great service, fast and accurate with a smile. Good beer, very tasty food, catering for kids too we were very impressed by this place!

Excellent service and food.It offers hearty food rather than a gastronomic adventure and I would not have them change that.Been quite a few times; recently the service and food seems to be better and hard to fault.We had a place in the train carriage, as we we usually do.This must be very rare in dining out and makes the meal more interesting.Sure to return.

We stopped here for some dinner on our way home. The train cart is a novelty and we found it much more pleasant in the newly refurbished bar area. We sat in the train cart but the table wasn't very clean and it was quite cold. Much better atmosphere in the bar. The food was great.

Great place to eat and the railway carriage is something special. The restaurant is located on Hilderstone level and is near the villages of Fulford and Moddershall, you would probably need a vehicle to get there. The food was tasty and of high quality. I would most definitely recommend the restaurant for it's food and decor if you are in the area and looking for a special place to eat.

The food is excellent and the service is of the standard. The price for three adults having a 3 course with drinks were very reasonable, considering the quality of the meal.I highly recommend The Spotgate to everyone.

Lovely night/meal out, booked table in one of the railway carriages, nice menu with a good selection of meals to cater for most tastes, most starters/mains/deserts gluten free option (which I am ) all well presented and very nice too, staff very good and friendly. Two railway carriages to choose from plus seating in various parts. Been before and will go again.

Where is the 6th 🌟, wow! Not been for a while but that was fantastic, newly refurbished, happy friendly staff and gorgeous food. Had the lighter meals and they were fresh, tasty and a plate full. The wife managed to save room for a pudding and that was also great not too sickly. The new outdoor area looks great so plenty of space for an outdoor beer.

Fantastic fathers day lunch. We had lunch for 4 from the full menu, we all had 3 courses and drinks cane to just over £100 which is very reasonable I'd say. The food was some of the best we've had, loads of prawns and salmon on prawn cocktail, everything else was amazing. The brisket and belly pork were the best we've ever had. This place well and truly knocks spots off Miller and Carter by a mile; both for price and quality of food. The service was quick and the train carriage where we had our meal was lovely and quiet, really did feel special. Thank you to all the staff 👌
