The Tap Steakhouse in Stafford

Stumbled across the Tap Steakhouse for a meal before a theatre performance in Stafford.Excellent service, very quick and brilliant food. A little out or our way but will definitely come back when in the area again.

My wife and I gave another shot but it was heard to convince my wife to come back the second time. It was another let down. I think the food is overpriced for the quality you get. Maybe we just came to a bad day or what but I think we wont be coming back anymore. We live in Stafford so we always are on a look out for good food but this was big let down.

Very tender and smokey flavoured centre cut fillet. Hardly ever be able to find this tasty beef elsewhere. If you are travelling from South England, try this plate with Stilton sauce and scooped chips.Very reasonable price with this quality and great staff.

Had such a wonderful date with my fella at The Tap.I'm a vegetarian and had the chilli garlic pasta. Which was absolutely in.cred.ible!My other half had a stake topped with haggis. He said it melted in his mouth.For dessert we had creme brulee. The sugar on top was a bit over done and tasted burnt but didn't effect the nightThe food was so delicious we planned our next trip there before we left.Highly recommend.The only thing I would mention, more so for for the restaurant owners, the desserts dint state whether they are vegetarian or vegan. It would be really handy to know.

Never been here before, until last night. Came in with my wife and step son. It was my pre-birthday meal (husband), which is on Tuesday. Anyway the meals were amazing. My wife and I had the beef and beer pie. Amazing. The beef in the pie was so tender, we loved it. And my step son had a well done steak, which he loved too. Would most definitely go back for more. The staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn't wish for more. Very highly recommended.

Lovely place with a pub-like vibe. Staff are very friendly and those of us that had steak were extremely happy. Starters were lovely. Pasta was a little bland however and a drinks menu would be beneficial!

Booked for a birthday meal, ordered 2 steaks to come out medium but unfortunately one was blue and the other was probably rare. Sent the back which came back well done and extremely oily as of it had been dropped on the fryer. Unfortunately very little chance of us returning

Omg food was gorgeous. I had the roast dinner when I went to visit my daughter . Loved it and the staff were great .. loved Charlotte who I think was having a dizzy day 🙃, and you all made us welcome with our little sausage dog . Absolutely will be back nxt time I'm down . Hats off to the chef ...massive Sunday roast . Loved it

First time visiting here. It was a Friday night and there place was so quiet (it was a touch busier when we left at 8.30). Looks a bit shabby but the food was pleasant. Starters of chicken wings, haggis stack and cheesy garlic ciabatta went down well. The steaks for making were a little disappointing. A bit chewy and flavourless but the burger and sides were good. Very generous portions- didn't need the starters. Service was excellent

Fantastic place, and wonderful food!We came just before Christmas with a party of six, and it didn’t disappoint.If you want a good steak this place will give Miller and Carter a run for its money any day!Thank you so much.
