The best pub meal for years. Great attentive staff, lovely homely surroundings and the food, wow, it was amazing. We had the fish sharing platter - 5 huge fish fillets, 10 squid pieces, witebait, fish cake and a prawn and smoke salmon salads with crusty rolls. It was massive, full of flavour and really fresh. My daughter had a beautiful rustic lasagna with triple fried chips. Just wonderful. We hadn’t booked but they sneaked us in. Thank you staff and owner, you should be proud. Andrew

Really lovely location, however we were only offered pizza - we tried calling beforehand and checking online and nowhere was it clear that that was our only option. Pizza that came was really bland, I had 3 different vegetables on my pizza and couldnt taste a single one. Worst of all, when we tried to order dessert we were unable to get any information about allergens. There was a big sign up that said, "please ask about allergens" and when we asked about nuts were basically told they didn't even know. We also had to go to the pub next door to order drinks.

Lovely little place for dinner, conveniently close to Alton Towers. We had the Sunday dinner and the portions were great, tasted lovely. Don’t forget to have a tinkle on the 200 year old piano in the garden!

Just had a lovely meal at The Bridge. Took a chance without booking and luckily got a table as it seemed pretty booked up! Lovely food, desserts and cold pints! The service was superb with really friendly staff in a nice relaxing environment. Definitely recommend this place!

We recently held a Tipi wedding for our daughter, on the lawn in front of the hotel. All catering and bar was provided by the Bridge House Hotel. Both ourselves and the guests were impressed with the food and service from Sandra and all her staff. Nothing was too much trouble and despite several changes to plans the day was a brilliant success. A massive thank you to everyone concerned.

Just dropped in for a drink here, but I was that taken by it, I ended up booking a room for the night. The staff were excellent and won me over by showing me one of the rooms, which was beautiful. Absolutely spotless and recently decorated, it was one of the best kept rooms I've ever seen. The food was very nice and guests have a choice of eating in the restaurant or ordering pizzas from a hatch, which can be eaten outside or in a neighbouring pub called 'The Talbot', which is also run by the owner.Outside are large gardens with tables, some of which are situated next to the river. They also have covered outdoor seating areas as well should the weather not be at its best. This is also an ideal choice if visiting Alton Towers, as the location is just ten minutes by car or roughly half an hour if walking. An excellent stay overall and would certainly book again.

Lovely, quaint building with interesting decoration. Staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. The room was very warm with no ventilation (windows should be open especially with covid). Main course was lovely (chicken & mushroom pie and lasagne). Beef gravy served with the pie, would have been better with chicken gravy. Ordered honeycomb cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding for deserts. Cheesecake was lovely but sticky toffee pudding had a strange texture, quite dry and only served with a very small jug of custard. A little on the expensive side.

Spotted the signs in the distance when cycling Churnet Valley, so glad we stopped. Very friendly welcome, cosy inside and the garden must be lovely when the sun is out. Good priced food and nice range of drinks. Looks like booking is essential for the early evening/ post Alton Towers day trippers.

Incredible find. Staying at Alton Towers can come with some complications, namely the quality of food they serve there as well as the price. LOOK NO FURTHER than this lovely establishment. Greeted with a smile and a brilliant range of classic pub grub. Great value for money, if you're looking for an alternative to AT "food", this is your place.

Have today been for lunch for my nieces birthday, and what an amazing meal. I had the fish and chips and it was amazing I have never seen such a plate full of food, it was top quality I couldn't eat it all as there was so much. The staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely be going again very soon. Would highly recommend
