Lovely staff providing a very welcoming experience. Had a very tasty meal after a classic walk round the lake. Food was great and the portions were more than ample! If you are doing a walk before drinks or a meal, you can pay to park at the hotel and they'll credit this back to the food bill giving free parking if eat there.

Started off great. Got there, went into the room which was lovely, and went for a walk around the lake. But when we got back from our walk and down to the dining room, it all went downhill from there. 5.55pm: sat down, were told we'd be given a menu momentarily. Explained there was a 30 minute wait on food. 6.20: had to ask for a menu, recieved menu and asked for a drink. 6.40: received said drink after asking 3 times and one of the waitresses kept noticing we didn't have the drinks (it was fairly quiet at this point). 7.30: customers arriving after us were served before us. 7.50: we received starters. A group of customers left. 8.10pm we receive mains, and by this time, we waited so long we didn't really feel like eating. Didn't help that the chicken was very dry.I must admit, if we hadn't had a room there that night, we'd have left with those other customers. In all fairness, we were given a round of drinks on the house (2 drinks), and there was a party in the other room. But really this should have been prepped for and food shouldn't have been offered if they didn't have the staff to accommodate it.They did do their best to correct it for us which we greatly appreciated, but it was a bit disappointing. The rest of the stay was lovely, the atmosphere was nice and the room was neat (aside from a bit of dust and a hair or two) breakfast was delicious

When we arrived staff were very welcoming and attentive. Unfortunately went downhill and we ended up having to go up to the bar to ask for service, twice, not good. Curry was bland, puff pastry on pie so light it disintegrated once you put your knife in.

Lovely little hotel in an excellent location. Easy parking, nice staff, decent breakfast! Bit of a weird smell from the loo in room 10, but not a biggie.

Popped in for a coffee after a walk round the lake and had the coffee and mini pud combo. Excellent spiced apple and cinnamon crumble with custard. Plus got a Brucie bonus with the car park discount. Win win 👍👍

Great idea to pay £3 for parking and if you spend over a fiver in the well presented, clean cafe adjacent to the car park next to Rudyard Lake you get the parking for free. However the snacks, such as simple sandwiches and a few chunky chips are very expensive: check the menu prices before ordering!

Visited & stayed for 1 night after Northern Soul evening in the ballroom. Bedroom bit dated & really could do with upgrading, so little bit tatty in parts BUT SPOTLESSLY CLEAN & FULLY FUNCTIONING! Had view over lake so fabThe staff also were lovely, FRIENDLY, WELCOMING, HELPFUL. LOOKED LIKE THEY ALL WORKED VERY HARD.Food was ok. Breakfast was tasty, quality ingredients used & nothing too much trouble.Rudyard lake 50yrds away so we had a short walk on arrival accessed from hotel car PARK..,which has coffee shop for walkers & members of public. Hotel also does all day food for non- residents.

Brilliant stay at the Rudyard. Staff so so helpful, very professional and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant, large party of 11 and the staff were very attentive and understanding of our parties needs. Rooms clean, warm and beautifully presented. From arriving Friday afternoon to leaving Saturday morning after a great breakfast all staff members were genuinely friendly and helpful. Whatever the reason the Rudyard is the place to go. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable.

We visited as a small family group for the Festive Menu & what a treat we had. It was definitely the best pre-Christmas meal we have been served in a number of years. The service was excellent & the price competitive. Thank you Hotel Rudyard.
