A wonderful place to get away from it all. Call in at the friendly bar for a drink and a light lunch and then take a walk across the field to the delightful Dovedale.Unusually, the hotel bar was closed during my recent visit due to staff shortages caused by COVID.I will return as soon as normal service is resumed.Until then, I suggest phoning before visiting.

All the staff were friendly and welcoming.Luke the Head chef produced the most wonderful and imaginative meals. Of course the hotel location provides stunning views of Thorpe Cloud and its surrounding hills.

Try to visit twice a year and have always had a great experience. Sticky toffee pudding absolutely smashing!

My wedding was due to take place in July 2019 and was put back to April 2020 due to covid. Unfortunately the hotel was still not able to open due to covid in April so the wedding had to be cancelled. I had paid a £1000 deposit that I have still not received it. The wedding was cancelled in March 2020 and to this day I have been asking for the money to be refunded and keep on getting the same response of 'We are looking into it'. This has been going on for a year now and it is not on, we did not want to cancel the wedding but covid took this decision out of our hands and now we are being ignored when rightfully asking for the money to be returned.

Bit confused!!! Phoned up three weeks ago to see how much afternoon tea was as I am trying to book for 13 people the price I was given was £23 each. Phoned up yesterday to confirm and was told the price was £14.50 each. So phoned up today to try and book and now am told the price is £18.50 well if you cant get the price right between you you dont give me much faith in you

We had a meal with a large group of friends after a big walk! I had Steak and Stilton pie!!! Has to be the best pie I have ever tasted by a mile!! The Prawn starter and Bakewell Tart were excellent as well... Highly recommend! We will definitely go back..

We stayed for a long weekend and we weren't disappointed. The staff were all excellent and very courteous. The rooms and hotel itself were excellently cleaned and the food has got to be some of the best in the area. The hotel itself is situated well to explore all the local walks and sights in the area. Overall a great stay and would thoroughly recommend a stay or even a meal if you're in the area.

We had an afternoon tea here and it was very nice. Fabulous location with awesome views. The Isaak Walton Hotel is full of character and would be a very friendly and comfortable hotel to spend a few days touring the Peak District.

While the rooms are a little dated to our taste. All I can say is wow the views are spectacular and the staff amazing. Nothing is to much trouble and Adrian was fantastic. We can't wait to book our next break!

Have just returned from a lovely weekend break at the Izaak Walton. There were five of us in our family group and we all agreed that the staff were, without exception, very friendly and absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for the ladies on reception, the restaurant staff, the bar staff (where young Alex went to great lengths to make sure we were looked after) and everyone else we came across. The food was great and the beds comfy too. Can't wait to go back.
