Amazing Fish & Chips on the lunch time menu. Lovely rural area, and reasonable price for it all.Would definitely go again.

Fathers day meal the night before due to family work commitments.Food was OK, service was OK, prices are reasonable.Just had the feeling we weren't really welcome. Not that it was unpleasant, but just felt a little as though we'll serve them but aren't really bothered. After the food, the waiting on staff went home and we were left in the dining area without any service. When the bill came it appeared only one person was left looking after the bar.The bill was incorrect as they hadn't replaced the filet steak I had ordered with the rib eye that they had served due to no filet steak left.Had been told it was really nice, but was left feeling disappointedIt's unlikely I'll go back as other places are more welcoming and as my daughter said, you can get equally as good food with a more welcoming service at the same price.

walked into a large empty room no one in no ambient music was like sitting in a doctors waiting room .ordered 2 drinks waited 15 minutes. the electric was going on and of every 2 minutes so lights on and of etc .then one of the staff came in and did a job interview on next table to us ( only me n wife in a 30 seater room ?) we could here everything. the electric stayed on and of throughout i finally fetched our drinks myself. which I found on the end of yhe bar .i got a sorry of the bar person ( saying they forgot) i went back inro the wife who was in the dark with out a drink listening to hsr and staff diplomatics etc .we cancelled the table and left diabolical.

Update......Second visit on Good Friday, not so good, much smaller pie portions and no horseradish sauce, but still tasted nice. You must be consistent for our custom! We had the Pie Deal at lunchtime today (24th March 2022). I had the steak & ale pie and my veggie partner had the cheese & onion pie. We both loved our meals. The steak pie had lots of meat in it, and only a pastry topping which is the way I like it. The famous chips were yum as always and the jug of gravy was delish. The veg was nice too. We sat outside on the decking with all the great views of the Endon valley in the lovely sunshine, fabulous experience. The service was fab too, prompt and friendly. We will be back for more that's for sure!!

We had an excellent Sunday lunch here in an amazing new outdoor beer garden overlooking the valley. The roast beef was excellent and so were the ribs. Beer choice was good and the service friendly. It’s popular with locals, so I recommend that you book.
