Visited The Boat Inn after a walk down the canal, it is such a beautiful and tranquil setting. The Landlord and Landlady are fantastic and take the time to speak to their customers and the food is fantastic! The staff go above and beyond to do everything they can for you. I would definitely recommend this place!

Excellent food, served hot, friendly staff, friendly people in all an excellent country pub and i will defitnately be returning. Even if you dont know people you soon do and become friends.Well i did score this great little pub 5* but unfortunately after continuing to give them our business things unfortunately changed leaving me to knock stars off. We decided to return to this great little pub on the 29th of june 2022 for a drink, my wife decided that she was hungry so i went inside to get a menu. My wife wanted a bowl of chips with bread and butter and i wanted a jumbo hotdog, i went back inside and the person behind the bar asked what she could get me. I replied a bowl of chip with bread and butter she stopped me saying we are only doing main meals. Even before i said il have a jumbo hotdog. I cant believe that a pub can turn custom down, when the order would have come to £10. In the end my wife called at the local chip shop.

Loved this place. We dropped in for coffee then returned for lunch. We sat outside overlooking the canal only a minutes walk from the Churnet Valley Railway. The food was beautiful and the owners were really welcoming. Dog friendly and dog bowls at nearly every table outside. Give it a try.

Been in for an evening meal, the food was by far the tastiest I have had out in a while… great feel to the place when you walk through the door. Definitely be visiting again as local to me. It feels a very safe place for a women alone to drink in… thank you guys.

Popped in for a look as it has recently been taken over by new landlords. Had lunch. Value for money.

Lovely country pub with great service called in after a lovely walk along the canal for a coffee as did many others only to find out they only serve instant coffee?? I think they would improve on business with a nice coffee machine to make latte cappuccino and frothy hot chocolate plus Thai latte??

Went to the Boat Inn opening night. A family run pub, with an amazing Landlord and Landlady duo. Felt instantly welcomed by them and got excellent service with a smile. Children welcomed too.The pub is clean, fresh and homely too. Definitely the local you want on your door step. I cannot wait for my next visit, especially as they’ll be serving food too.

Been at 5pm on mother's day. With daughter. Son in law and baby ivy. First time they have done evening food. The steak was amazing. I couldn't finish my meal. Chips are definitely not frozen. Tripled fried. Beautiful. Salad.. would have liked a bit of onion and cucumber. . Keep it up guys. Well done

5 Stars for extraordinary character - This is absolutely my kind of place. My own Pub shut down unexpectedly 5 years ago and we all miss it so much. Then, this evening I come across this most excellent place while planning a 2023 vacation. On my next visit to the UK, we will have plans to visit. You're all so fortunate to have such wonderful and inviting pub to enjoy your time. I'd love a home built similar to this architecture. To all you local folks, and regulars, know you live in a exquisite place. Hoping to defect one day. Stay safe and healthy. Jim - Arkansas, USA
