Good quality food with South African influences. Looks a little unkempt from outside but indoors is lovely. A warm welcome from the owners. Looking forward to our next visit.

I cannot recommend highly enough. I went today with my elderly parents, they went above to do their best for them both to make their Easter Sunday one to remember. Thank You sooooo much xx

Brilliant pub! Found this place as a centre spot to meet friends, and thought we'd give it a go based on reviews and the sample menu on their website. We had an excellent Sunday lunch. We booked a table in the bar where dogs are allowed. We were there for over 4 hours and felt welcome the whole time. The food is great! Two of us had Sunday roasts, which were excellent. Often a roast out is disappointing, so this is one of the best I can remember having. Lovely tender meat, such yummy gravy, actually crispy potatoes and lovely side veg. The other two had beef cheek and cauliflower katsu curry, both were great. Starters and desserts were really nice too. Very reasonably priced at 3 courses for £19.99. We also said we'd very happily meet there again.Added bonus of a lovely pub dog, and the owners were very friendly too.Thank you for a great Sunday. We found a pleasant 4 mile walk to do from the village beforehand too.

Fabulous food. Posh restaurant . Reasonable price. Very capable attentive staff. Dog friendly isn't Really . Dogs are only allowed in the tap room bar. Main areas are banned.

Absolutely first class. Wood burner roaring on a cold winter night. Really friendly service and the food could not have been better. A 5 star experience. So lovely to find somewhere that is not part of a big group of restaurants. Cosy with a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely return. Thank you for a perfect evening

Highly highly recommend this pub! Whether it is for a group of people for a family get together or just 2 of you for dinner, it is just lovely. Very homely inside, and food and service brilliant. Will definitely be returning! (Sorry had too much of a good time to take photos of the beautiful food.)

Family of four popped in en route to Liverpool, absolutely amazing meal. Not overpriced and really good food. Great service and lovely interior and garden. Highly recommended - we’ll definitely come back. Loved it.
