It felt great to be back in a familiar place with familiar faces. Would have stayed longer but we ended up so cold. Not the owners fault, just the weather so wrap up warm! Also, beer was very good.

During COVID times you’d think landlords would be happy for your custom, but not this landlord.A friend and I were talking as we walked into The Grapes on a hot evening in June and we forgot to put our masks on. We walked up to the bar and was instantly barked at ‘WHERE’S YOUR MASK”, to which we responded, “here in my pocket” and we put them on.At this point we said to him there was no need to talk to us in the way he did but he continued to be argumentative so we just walked out.Anyone with a brain cell would know the exchange should have gone like this and he would have put our money in his till, however that will now never happen.“Hi lads, before I can serve you would you mind putting your masks on, we’ve got to stick to government guidelines, thanks. Now what can I get you?”It’s also worth pointing out that the landlord and the other staff member were without masks so he was breaking the law himself.

Lovely pub with a great outdoor space at the back. Shell and tiny are fab hosts. Thanks again another great visit 😀

An amazing place. A warm welcome from the first time we went. Now a local for us. A wonderful gem and the best pint of Guinness anywhere. I also include Dublin in that list!

The pub is a lovely quiet pub, is such ashame the landlord&landlady don't know how to welcome people. 0 people skills 0 customer service! We've been in a hand full of times every time we've been made to feel like we're not welcome. Definitely will not be going here again! All they seem to do is stare at you everywhere you go and frown at you they clearly dont like the under 40s. They are definitely in the wrong trade if that's how they think they can treat people.☆response to owner:-We were there last night (not with children either) so not sure how you haven't seen us for 14 months? We've visited here probably 5 times and each time we have been made to feel so uncomfortable/unwanted its unreal. Maybe with your 30odd years in the trade you should have picked up on customer service skills because they are seriously lacking.
