Quite disappointed with the food, I will literally eat pretty much anything and I didn’t eat my meal. The steak was grey and a strange texture. The sauces seemed watered down, the chips and onion rings soggy and the bruschetta was just unseasoned tomato on bread. The staff did seem friendly, however, the only thing we finished were the drinks.

Lovely staff and very friendly. The fish and chips here were INCREDIBLE. Portion was perfect, fish tasted really fresh and the chips were to die for. Full recommend if you're passing of staying near here.

We've enjoyed a few of the rock nights here and thought we'd try it for dinner yesterday as it's a nice drive out. The pub is warm and the staff are friendly, so the place feels welcoming. We both had the roast beef dinner. The meat was lovely and tender but the veg was all boiled and a little bland, perhaps. Certainly not bad though. The roast spuds need to be crispy and some honey-roasted parsnips, well done, would go down well.

Really good pub. Excellent food and friendly staff. Had a pie which I'm always worried about being mostly pastry and no filling but it did not disappoint. The potatoes and peas with it were bang on too - freshly cooked unlike many other pubs. Not surprising that a load of tables were reserved for the evening. Will definitely go back.

Always a pleasure to visit this wonderful family pub, the food is superb, the drinks are great and the atmosphere is second to none! I have always felt welcome here whenever I visit, be that for a quick coffee or a full three course dinner. It's family friendly and has plenty of outdoor seating available if you've been out walking. The Landlord and Landlady are very welcoming and the staff are always pleasant and smiling. It has a pool table which is cheap at 50 pence a game and they also have themed nights every so often (I'm looking forward to Rock Night again).I think this pub is exemplary and quite possibly the best in the area.Well done all at The Winking Man, take a bow, you deserve it. πŸ»πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

The food was overall 4 star, it was served to us on time, cooked to perfection and exactly as we ordered it. The portions where of a good size and well presented. As a side note:- The facilities where clean and fully stocked.- The staff where very busy tonight due to an event however they still had the time to be polite, helpful and it did not seem like the food and the waiting times suffered.
