Alessi Indian Restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent

Have dined here fairly regularly over the past few years & have always been impressed. However, visited last night & the experience was awful. Had to request the drinks twice & there was a long delay in them being served, the poppadoms were burnt, the rice never materialised, the meals were tepid, had to ask for the bill 3 times and the few staff there didn't seem to have a clue what was going on. Also, the restaurant itself was freezing cold. The waiter asked for our comments regarding the experience, after the meal, so my husband politely explained the issues. He didn't bother replying, just turned his back & walked off. We won't be returning!

It’s pretty good here most of the time. We like the Tandori king prawns and the Tandori monkfish. My partner loves the chicken sagwala dish. Occasionally we have a dish that disappoints or isn’t as nice but on balance we are lucky to have this in Audley and will keep using it.

A big thank to all the staff at Alessi for the amazing food & wonderful service we received when we visited a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time we had been to the Alessi but it certainly won’t be the last. We could not fault any of the food. The staff were very attentive and answered any questions we had regarding the different dishes. It was a very enjoyable night and we look forward to returning soon.

We had a birthday meal it was spoil by waiting over 40 minutes after ordering, not all of us had starters there was 12 adults but charged for 13 extra drinks where also on the bill of over £300 a £70 deposit was also paid before hand the response from the manager was terrible and to top it off we had to eat with our coats on it was freezing and also food left cold and tasteless never again 😡

Lovely fresh cooked food, piping hot and friendly staff. Will come again and recommend.

On a visit after work I called in here for a take away but they said they didn't do take aways tonight, Friday 17th December 2021. So went across the road to buy a ready meal from Tesco. While in there one of the girls who worked at alessi audley bought a cooked chicken, you know the ones in the plastic bags. I watched her go back to the restaurant in her hand. Then I realised they were making there Curry's and food with REHEATED chicken. This has got to be a public health risk and when people are putting comments about being ill after eating there, is it any wonder. This needs to be reported.

The service and food were fabulous my main was delicious tried something I'd not had before. The room was really cold felt like a door was open with a draft blowing through. Not pleasant to sit in. It would have been 5 stars but the coldness has lowered the rating.

Lovely food would recommend it they don't sell deserts but you can have a desert brought from the shop next door but all friendly staff and very helpful

Best curry I have had for s long time. Had a Hariyali which was lovely, although I would have liked more heat - which I will ask for next time I go. Will be going back.
