This must be one of the most desirable venues to hold a function especially a wedding. We have attended three weddings and a birthday party at the Upper House and all have been wonderful. The setting is spectacular with views of the countryside providing a great backdrop for photographs. The internal decor is tasteful and the tables were decorated beautifully with obvious attention to detail being paid. The food is fabulous and the staff are professional and polite. A true gem.

Nice location. Service very slow. I ordered two coffees, and two tea cakes. The coffee came in a reasonable time, however it an age to get the tea cakes. Staff were very nice and helpful, but it was just so slow for what I ordered.

We went to The Upper House for a family wedding and it was brilliant. The gardens are stunning and very big, with a variety of different flowers and features. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Also the bar was very reasonably priced. The food was all excellent, with gluten free options for the wedding menu. The hog roast people were very considerate of gluten free dietary requirements by using clean knives and taking meat from a different part of the hog.The ceremony was outside and I will say The Upper House is beautiful for a spring / summer outdoor ceremony in the stunning gardens. There was seating outside afterwards to enjoy reception drinks in the sun.All in all The Upper House is a stunning wedding venue, that if you're getting married in Staffordshire I would recommend giving this hotel / restaurant a visit

Our room was in the attic so it was hot and stuffy, they had tiny windows and no view of the lovely gardens. A party was going on right underneath us, so that was loud. I had about 2 hours sleep as the pillow was hard and the quilt was heavy and rustling. The house and grounds are beautiful, breakfast and evening meal was fantastic. The

Went for afternoon tea with 10 others. Well organised and nothing was to much trouble. Staff were great. Food was lovely I would have liked a bit more salad . Wedgewood china was used it was lovely. Afterwards tea cost £20 per head . Yes I would go back. Upper house is lovely Manor House and can do weddings, parties and has a restaurant. Lovely scenic grounds .

We booked in advance, we we told last minute they had a wedding booked with a live band and loud music till midnight on both nights booked. They would have held this knowledge at time of our booking and should really make this info known at booking time.We were travelling with a severely autistic adult with a neurological problem of chronic headaches. No suitable replacement room was found. No compensation and great disappointment to the disabled adult as lots of preparation work needs to be implemented for autism.Wouldn’t recommend and would not use againAfter we cancelled no communication was received. The upper house needs to train its reception staff in meeting customers needs.Very disappointing.

Hi all I stayed here for 2 nights and treated myself to an evening dinner, which was to die for all here at the upper house hotel 4 star hotel all, I had the soup of the day, which was classic home made tomato soup, which was very good indeed all here!! Then I had one of the main course specials, which was the leek and chicken pie, homemade, with a large fresh helping of potato mash, with lovely cooked green beans, which were beautly fresh! This main course was very warm and beautifully plated up all! I definitely chose the right special all here!! I then chose the Eton mess desert and it was lovely, just a very small portion but very nice indeed all!I would definitely stay here again all, it was 115pds the first night stay and the second night stay costs 125pds for the night all! Well worth the monies all, I would stay here again all!N. Hayward Glos

My Brother had his wedding here and was really beautiful and the food was excellent. Can't find a fault with this place. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent service and very comfortable surroundings. We popped in for a coffee, without a booking, but ended up sitting by the lovely open fire with cake and glasses of fizz. Beautifully decorated for Christmas to add to the experience.

Stayed here a few times now. Absolutely love the place. The grounds, location, the staff are all great. The beverages are lovely and the food is amazing. Staff are always pleasant and have a smile on their face. Can't wait to visit again!
