I do not rate this gym highly considering the price they charge of £46 per month for apparently a top notch high quality gym that they portray. I expected a much much higher service for what I'm paying for.The facilities are poor e.g. broken lockers and broken exercise machines in the ladies gym, some don't even switch on at times and have not been fixed for the past year. The Sauna is out of order a lot.Things are not well maintained e.g. changing rooms can be untidy/unclean, wall shower gels always empty, the hydro pool has recently turned a dirty colour, swimming pool is so so cold even though they are able to change the temp, shower water is red hot to the point it burns face and hair, so I've had to stop showering there. (I asked for these to be alerted as so many others comment on it too but they have not done anything about it)I've never had issues with the staff personally. Reception team are always welcoming.I'm not happy with my overall experience at M Club. I can say that it's really not worth the cost now I've tried it out. I'll be moving to a cheaper gym (with probably better facilities) as soon as my contract ends. I wouldn't recommend.

Fab spa, pool and gym. Nice to visit a good quality gym in the City 😊

I recently visited the spa and fitness club in the hopes of joining having heard numerous positive reports about the new 'state-of-the-art facilities'. Upon entering Reception I stood waiting as three staff members engaged in a conversation unrelated to business activities. Feeling awkward in the moment I politely interjected, the receptionist sharply dealt with my vistors pass and I was pointed towards the changing area. Not the warm welcome I was hoping for entering a new environment. Entering the changing rooms I noticed that all the lockers were 'reclaimed' from the previous M-Club which tarnished my impressions of these 'new' facilities. Entering the gym area I was re-acquainted with a vast majority of gym equipment 'reclaimed' from the old M-Club. These 'state-of-the-art' facilities seemed more like a up-cycling project. After finishing my workout I retired to the spa. My excitement was quickly ground away, as there were workmen grinding out a section of the jacuzzi, during business hours! Not the most tranquil experience I expected. Entering the sauna to find solace I sat watching the workmen. It came as a shock that I noticed they were using electric power tools without suitable health and safety equipment in wet conditions. I swiftly exited due to risk, never to return. If you want a recycled, unsafe health club with unpleasant staff all for over £40 per month this places for you.

As a health conscious and extremely active local. I have always had an avid interest in all of my local recreational and sports related complex's and the facilities they have to offer.I have twice recently (via a day pass) being to the Hankey M club site. The initial "Sparkle" of the new venue was quickly tarnished by the shabby and dated interior, and tye young and very unhelpful and blatantly rude reception staff. For the price of a monthly membership. There's several local gym and health facilities that I would personally rate my higher. In conclusion, style over substance in every aspect.

Lovely spa and swimming pool. Fantastic state of the art equipment.

There are men in the pool area that wear underwear in the sauna area and nothing is said to them. Eating in the sauna aswell again this is not addressed by staff. It is not the high quality gym that they try to portray.

Great well equipped gym and spa, perfect for all levels of gym experience either first time ever walking in to a gym or a professional athlete looking to maintain.Very friendly welcoming staff and members

Really good gym, the pool and spa facilities are lovely, it has big changing rooms and the gym has all of the equipment and free weights one needs, which usually isn't the case in a more "leisure" based gym. The only thing is you can't lift too heavy as you're told that you're not allowed to drop your weights on the lifting platforms as its above the cafe, which seems a bit absurd/poorly thought out.

I normally use the MClub in Newcastle but thought I'd give this one a go with it recently (re)opening. I was going for the pool but had a quick look in the gym and it looked great; definitely smaller than the Newcastle one but still had most of the machines and everything looked new and tidy. If you're just going for the gym - stop reading now, I'm sure you'll like it.Poolside though, it wasn't terrible but honestly, I thought it was a let down. Firstly, the changing rooms were really disgustingly messy when I went in - eaten banana skin / empty water bottles / mud from shoes / wrappers were littered over the floor. Hand towels used to wipe down gym equipment (in this age of covid) had been left all over the place. For some reason, they've decided to rip out the old battered lockers from the Festival Park MClub and stick them in this new building... even the broken ones! So there's one locker with the door hanging off and another that doesn't even have a door already. Not a gripe, but I just thought it was funny that they've not even bothered to take the Ipod Shuffle adverts out of the lockers during the move (a device that got discontinued about 5 years ago). There's missing skirting board in the changing rooms - again not a massive deal but not really what I'd expect from a brand spanking new building. The pool itself is nice, but probably about the same size as the old festival park gym (so significantly smaller than the Newcastle one) and not big enough for the amount of people that were trying to use it. Again, the hot tub is nice but a fraction of the size of the Newcastle hydrotherapy pool, and there seems to be no limit on how many people are allowed in it. I witnessed 8+ people sat in there shoulder to shoulder which is a bit concerning in my opinion given the current situation. Unfortunately there is no cold plunge pool like there is in the Newcastle club.I think if the guy who cleans the Newcastle club (not sure of his name, but he's great) worked here, I'd probably rate it a lot higher, but even then, the Newcastle club would still be the winner for swimming.

Gym and pool member for just over a year from Nov 2017 to Jan 2019. Never encountered so much incompetence from members of staff in all the gyms I've ever been in. Changing rooms have privacy curtains removed for families without warning, pool sub standard and doesn't seem to be cleaned regularly, showers are a health hazards for children as drains simply fly off when stood on leaving sharp metal and gaping hole exposed. Some members of staff are disingenuous and most are unhelpful and rude. Bar / cafe rarely manned.Equipment is ok in gym, and instructor led classes are good. Not worth what you pay for though. Better Gym? Pure Gym. Better pool? Horizons. Better package for gym and pool for kid? Dimensions have £22 a month for all hours access to gym and pool for kids. Plus has a play area too as well as a decent place to sit and have a coffee.
