New Florence in Stoke-on-Trent

Went along for lunch with a friend on Thursday and we had a ploughman's lunch. The presentation was great and so was the meal, a happy welcoming staff made our visit enjoyable. I don't visit the Florence often but when I do I enjoy the experience.

Came here for Mother's Day yesterday evening.Overall the experience was good and much better than other local pub/restaurants. The food was delicious. Carvery was hot and tasty. The staff were nice and friendly. Price was reasonable and venue was clean.Unfortunately the biggest downsides were to do with organisation. We were on a table that had several different table numbers. We all agreed to say the same number. This unfortunately resulted in confusion and some food arriving late. The staff member told us to say a different table number.I said that number when ordering a dessert. They unfortunately gave the dessert away to the wrong table and mine didn't arrive for about 20-25 minutes. And when it did, it came with a spoon that was larger than the sundae glass so it wasn't really fit for purpose.All of this could have been solved with a piece of paper on larger tables telling us exactly which table number to say. Either way, none of this detracted from its pluses.Would definitely come back again.

Having been here before in 2021 with an average experience I thought we would come back again. However I confess myself very disappointed. We ordered food on the Greene King app as it is easier and supposedly quicker. The starter came before the drinks which took 20 minutes and we had to ask for the drinks to be brought over. Before we finished the starter the main was then ready to be brought out. The food was average, burger was a little pink inside still. The staff abysmal, no communication rather zombie like.We then ordered a dessert separate. After 40 minutes of waiting, we had to go upto the bar to inform the staff that we were still waiting. It was brought out lacking in presentation with dirty spoons. Therefore we had to use the forks from another table to eat the dessert!! We shall not be coming here again!

Welcome by Megan this afternoon who couldn’t do enough for us. The pub & restaurant was very busy and we hadn’t booked so worried we might not have got in. Megan went out of her way to find us a table for us within a few minutes. Red hot carvery with lots to choose from. Excellent service from start to finish! Thanks all 👏🏻☺️

Absolutely fantastic, Me and my family all had a carvery and it was amazing! All of the food was fresh and restocked, the pub was so busy but didn’t feel busy as the staff were so efficient, our plates were cleared really quick and the staff couldn’t help us enough! I’ll definitely be returning very soon!

I’ve been today with my mother for her birthday and the food was fantastic, we both had Carvery and the food was fresh and delicious, the restaurant was very busy and I can understand why! The staff were super organised and polite though so being busy wasn’t an issue! Nicola’s customer service was great!

We visited on Tuesday evening with friends and had a wonderful evening. Welcomed by the team and Nicola the manager. Delicious carvery and enjoyed a few pints of the Abbot ale. See you again soon

Wacky Warehouse - The kids had a blast, it was clean and the staff were friendly. Reasonably priced, why bother paying more for softplay!?The restaurant - Excellent value for money, a really tasty carvery and extremely helpful and friendly staff who were absolutely brilliant with the kids despite our visit being on a super busy Saturday evening. We will be back soon, thankyou!

We are local to this pub and visited on Christmas Eve. We booked a table to have some food before going into the bar. We couldn't fault the service or the food. We were served quickly and the food was great. It was very busy with being Christmas Eve, but the staff worked very hard. It was great to see a full pub full of atmosphere and well done to everyone who worked so hard

Long time since our last visit but the food was great and the prices were good. The carvery was £6.99 mid week for a medium plate and that was too much food. The meat was melt in the mouth delicious with generous slices, and enough vegetable choices. The fish and chips were lovely and fresh and plenty of food.
