We spent a long time hunting for a chinese takeaway after finding all our usual ones were closed. My boyfriend had been planning a chinese takeaway all week to celebrate his birthday today, but the only places open online had terrible reviews. We eventually stumbled upon this place and noticed it had good reviews so gave it a try. The lady on the phone, who I think also delivered our food, was incredibly friendly and helpful. She advised us that the food would be with us in just over an hour as it was a large order, and it turned up dead on time! Very impressive considering the huge demand on takeaways at the moment. The food was very tasty and perfectly spiced, particularly the salt and pepper chips which we all agreed were the best we had ever had. All the portions were very generous too, the tubs were completely filled to the top. We will definitely be ordering from here again, very glad we stumbled upon this place and hopefully we can visit the restaurant at some point in the future.

Excellent service and staff, reasonably priced food. The food was tasty and the hot dishes were sufficiently spicy.Portions were generous and food was still piping hot when delivered. The female staff I spoke to was helpful, provided excellent customer services and ensured our meal was delivered promptly by herself to the hotel in stayed in.I can say the experience was great and I will pop in whenever I am in the area.

Worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever experienced After reading all the 5 star reviews we thought we’d give it a try. When we arrived half of the restaurants was in darkness and we where seated in a corner because it was “warm by the radiator” we took this with a pinch of salt and sat down to order. We where served our drinks and the ordered our starters, as we where having from the all you can eat menu we thought we’d try a few different dishes. The ribs had no meat on them at all just a layer of fat, the salt and pepper chicken Wings were disgusting it was so greasy and had no flavour at all and inside of the chicken was black and so off putting! The Aromatic duck was greasy and flavourless With hard bits that could not have been chewed, the wraps where hard/crunchy (considering supposed to be Soft flour wraps) and smelt like play dough! The main- bean sprout chow mein smelt like feet and was inedible, sizzling beef in black bean was just ok. Even the ice cream was crunchy and tasted off. Not once during our meal did anyone ask how our meals where, we where left eating with the spoons that come served in the dishes as no fresh cutlery was given with each meal even tho the other had been taken away with the other dishes. Nicest part of the meal was the chips! Then as we went to pay the bill we where told that they didn’t have a card machine and that bank transfer was preferred, in all my life I have never experienced a restaurant that does not accept card payments without telling you before you have eaten! And to top it off the lady told me to walk down the street to the cash machine- which when I got there was out of order, I walked back up only to be told there’s another one further down the road. All-in-all terrible experience and will NOT be returning.

Thought we would have a change and try the place out as we seen some good reviews..!! The curry sauce was like jelly I needed a knife to cut it. It came out my tub in one lump after some force, the salt and pepper chicken was soggy and like eating battered worms!! The crispy shredded beef was also like soggy worms could not even tell it was beef!! The chicken chow main was tasteless, and like a bucket of grease. Will never use this place again I don’t see how any of you people can rate this place!!!

Excellent food. Staff very attentive. I took my son's has a treat before I came home. We had the £13.99. Buffet. Too numerous to mention what was on offer. But we would recommend anything. Only thing what wasn't right was the egg fried rice.. tasted a bit too dry..well done. We will be coming again.

I have travelled to Stoke-on-Trent with my girlfriend for a short break. We were looking for somewhere to eat late on at night. We arrived at Shanghai City and they were more than accommodating. The waitress was very pleasant and helpful in recommending dishes suited to our palates. The portions were more than generous and the food was outstanding. We would definitely recommend the Shanghai dumplings. Furthermore it was really reasonably priced for an authentic Chinese restaurant.

We tried this after all of our local Chinese takeaways were closed and we were all delighted with the quality and freshness of the food. It's definitely a hidden gem and considerably better than we were expecting, especially given the bland and basic appearance of the place. The staff are extremely friendly as well. This is now our new go-to Chinese despite being a bit further out. Highly recommended!!!!

Amazing! They got nice food here, and kind service. You don't have to use chopsticks, they will provide you knives and forks. If you are too busy to come here, they also have "take away", you could order whatever you want. Important thing is they open from 11:30 am to 2:30 am, then they will have a rest untill 5pm, and close at 11:30 pm. You can order whatever you want during their work time. Honestly, You should give a try to them. One more thing, hope you enjoy it. :)

The best Chinese food my wife and I have ever had in the UK. Reasonable prices and nice people, too. Long may this place continue!
