The Kismet in Stoke-on-Trent

First experience wasn't great but a friend kept banging on about how good they are so decided to give another chance.Chips were recooked and had gone cold and rice was cold, not even tepid. Other halfs curry really watery and oily, so much so that had to drain it.The only good part was the chicken was really tender.Not a great experience. Won't be returning.

We were seated at a dirty table, we asked them to clean it, they moved us to another table, (they didn't clean it, and seated other people there) we waited an hour after our poppadoms were finished before our mains arrived, we had to ask where our food was. One of the mains ( a dish we order regularly) had a new sauce on it, which was hot and not to our liking, they replated the food , but this left the dish dry and without onions. Whilst waiting an hour for food, we were not asked if we required any drinks, we requested these when enquiring where our food was, the water served was warm. We requested the bill, which did have a slight discount for the problem with the sauce, the waiter who came to take payment didn't say a word, just entered the amount into the card machine and placed it in front of us, no please, thank you. No hand towels or table cloths, not like a restaurant, more like a local pub grub.We will not return here.We have visited the kismet in burslem for many years, and have always found the complete opposite service, they are friendly, welcoming and the food is exquisite.

Took 16 people to celebrate our Golden wedding. Everything came as ordered, food was delicious and the final bill was actually less than I expected. Highly recommended. Thanks guys service was spot on.

Lovely atmosphere and a pleasant welcome.Lots of choice of food which was a good portion and tasted lush.Being gluten free they advised me well and cooked my meal perfectly.Will definitely be back.

1 Thursday night curry, 11 people, 9 end up with food poisoning. 0 apologies or any offering as you’d expect. Terrible service, Avoid at all costs !! See other latest reviews for a better insight.

It's the second time I've eaten in this restaurant . Food is good , quite an impressive choice , be it for starters or main dishes . The decor is relaxing in my mind and service was prompt and very attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend.

This is my first time at this branch of Kismet (we normally go to the Burslem branch 4 miles away) so it had a lot to live up to.It didn't start well by trying to fit 7 people on a small table for 6 but after some shuffling around we got a table to fit us all.When drinks orders were taken people were missed. After complaining to the manager the level of service went up.After a small wait starters arrived and I have to say were excellent.Main course followed with similar efficiency and was again very good.Unfortunately when it came to deserts they didn't have any apparently due to supply problems which was a big disappointment.The bill for 7 of us was £210 so not unreasonable.The staff are ok but the bar man was especially good making us special cocktails.Overall I would not come again and would go to the Burslem branch instead. It's cheaper, better service and a full menu.

Visited Kismet Hartshill for the first time last night with a group from work. Food was excellent. I had chicken tikka chilli masala with pilau rice & chips, all of which was very hot and very nice😀 Serbia was good even if they did miss count the Cobra so I didn't get one to start with. Soon put right though👍 Thoroughly enjoyed it and would certainly go again.

Great atmosphere,clean and welcoming,but most of all good was mouth watering!would definitely recommend it!

Fabulous food, great service, advice on hand if needed,NOTHING to much trouble from the staff,made to feel special on every visit ,well done all keep, up the good work.
