Cafe Rouge Stratford Upon Avon in Stratford-on-Avon

We thought the town was quiet and didn't need to book a restaurant but we couldn't get in to quite a few as they were fully booked or overpriced. So we called in the Cafe Rouge. They were very welcoming. We had a lovely meal and the the prices were reasonable. I had the beef bourguignon and my wife had the salmon. Both meals were beautiful. Staff were lovely .Would highly recommend.

Went for afternoon tea. The manager was very professional and helpful.Other staff not quite as good, waitress said she would come back to us.....never did.Food was very average, being vegetarian the sandwiches were only cheese.A t another table a vegetarian was told her meal would be cooked in the same oil as chicken had previously been cooked in and asked if this was acceptable.Would I visit again very unlikely

We had a family meal at Café Rouge on a Saturday evening to celebrate my son's 9th birthday and Mother's Day. The choice on the menu was perfect for all ages, the food was absolutely delicious and the setting and ambience were superb. The highlight, and what made our visit even more special, was the service. We didn't catch the servers name, but he was friendly, humourous and attentive to all our needs, as well as offering the same service to everyone else.

Absolutely delicious, had the duck confit and a trio of mini deserts. Really enjoyed our meal, we don't live in the area but if we ever visit again we will definitely be back!!

Lovely mother's day meal. Free prosseco for me! We are from the very reasonable set menu. Full of old favourites like French onion soup and creme brulee. Excellent value for money for a three course meal and even the tap water comes with ice and lemon.Very happy. One of the best Cafe Rouge I have been too. Happy to recommend.

Great food, decent portions and extremely prompt service.

Well it would have been a 5 Star review from me, for presentation of the food and service from the lovely waiter. But.. and here comes the but: me and my partner had suddenly become seriously ill. I have only ever had food poisoning once before and this time it was worse. I shall not describe the gastrointernal problems we've suffered since leaving the cafe this afternoon. We had different things to eat before but shared the afternoon tea, which must have been the issue. Either the brownies, cake,scone or sandwiches were off because that's what we shared and I can not even make this up. I wasn't able to pick up my kids from school as I've sat on the toilet all afternoon and my partner had to ring an ambulance. I am still in so much pain but obviously have to stay home with the children. It would have been such a good day if that wouldn't have happened. Im really sorry for the bad review but I have no other option, the kitchen staff has to find the source of it and maybe need to be on top with dating eggs, milk, cakes etc. There was an elderly couple eating the same things I truly hope they won't be as bad as us. Please consider an investigation on this matter. Thanks a lot. And thanks to the lovely staff.

Very very very good food,service and friendly staff would definitely come back

Staff helpful and efficient but l have to point out that the food was not up to standard at this particular time.the soup was tasty but just not as usual standard and my chicken Breton was very disappointing, my friend ordered the same main meal yet they looked totally different and the sauce was watery and again not anything like I’ve had many times before. I mentioned this to our waiter and hope he conveys this to the chef.

Went here for a very pleasant dinner, haven’t been to a Cafe Rouge in a while and I must say I have missed out, the food was really good. It was all done very well and tasted amazing, my favourite has to be the Anna potatoes 👌🏼the desert was good, the lemon tarte is not to my liking but that more of a personal preference but the chocolate fondant was good just a bit over done.Service all in all was really good attentive and always checked back that everything was okWould definitely recommend if you are down these ways
